‘Rules for Living’ premiered at the National Theatre, London, in March 2015 featuring Miles Jupp, Stephen Mangan, Deborah Findlay and Claudie Blakely.

Everyone creates their own coping strategies or rules for living. But what happens when an extended family gathers in the kitchen for a traditional Christmas and they each follow those rules, rigidly? In Sam Holcroft's theatrically playful, dark comedy - there's really no place to hide.

I chose this photo since I was able to put two subjects on different thirds. The first palm tree is on the top left third and it is the main focal point, while the second palm tree is on the lower right third. In Lightroom I enhanced the blue in the sky and the green of the trees. I also cropped the bottom to make it seem less busy but if I cropped it anymore I would lose the effect of the trees at two different points. That is also why I didn't get a better angle but nonetheless the effect remains the same.

Did not center the focus. Made it focus to the left

This photo of the sun early in the morning to me is amazing. I think that this is rule of third because it takes of 1/3 of the photo.
