RT might be Rijkstelephoon (State Telephone).

Although nearly all of the southern half of the Butler Freeport Rail Trail has a very secluded feel in the deep valley of Buffalo Creek, it crosses under a bridge on Rt 28, supported on massive piers.

I followed the GPS and took Rt 939 down toward the east coast of Iceland. It WAS shorter than staying on Rt 1...it was also unpaved and the weather was foggy and rainy. However, the neverending waterfalls made the drive acceptable, if nerve wracking.
