World Rowing Junior Championships 2009 - Brive la Gaillarde (France)

The 183rd annual Durham Regatta, sometimes referred to as 'the Henley of the North' has been taking place this weekend.

This two-day event can trace its roots back almost 200 years. Apart from the serious competitive element, for many of those who attend, it's just a great, fun social occasion and if the weather is kind, the opportunity to have a glass or two of Pimm's with a picnic on the banks of the River Wear.
