Riverfront Community Rowing Program - From college students to retirees, beginners to the very experienced, men and women of all ages and physical abilities participate in Beginning, and Intermediate and Experienced classes in both large, team boats (sweep rowing) and smaller, individual boats (sculling). Other adults compete on Competitive Racing Teams and college students can take part in a summer membership. Classes are offered in both the a.m. and p.m.

I didn't have my camera for the main event yesterday when it was very busy indeed, but there were a fair few people watching today.
Rowing is all about synchronization--in and out of the water--and the crew members maneuver the boats in time with the coxswain’s commands. The cox sits in the stern and, as Friedman explains, is a mini-manager of the team. She acts as the on-board coach, calling the drills and work/rest intervals, and provides crucial information to Friedman about the physical compatibility of the boat’s crew.
Veterans from across the country participated in the 2014 National Veterans Summer Sports Clinic in San Diego, Calif., Sept. 7-12. The clinic provides introduction to a variety of adaptive sports including surfing, sailing, kayaking, rowing and archery.

Saturday was the last day of Summer Eights, the third term's inter-collegiate rowing races. Given that it was the only day of the four with any sunshine, everyone went down to watch (and drink Pimms). River sports are definitely at their best in the summer.
On the right is Brasenose men's second boat (who I know 3 or 4 of) chasing down a Lincoln college boat. They are about to 'bump' it and thus win the day's race (well, as much as you can in this sort of racing).
