Macro Mondays and Rock

Rose quartz is a variety of quartz. The colour varies from dark pink to very light, translucent pink. Rose quartz, named after the pink colour, is often cracked and usually slightly cloudy. Very small rutile needles cause a six-radiate star in cabochon grinding. The colouring substances are titanium and manganese. The color may fade. Rose quartz has been worked as a gemstone for a long time.

Rose quartz is known as a healing crystal and the stone of unconditional love.💕 Pink Quartz, with its light red energy rays, brings determination, commitment, and caring.❤ Black onyx is a protection stone. Its purpose is to help prevent the drain of personal energy while at the same time absorbing and transforming negative energy.

Photo taken by Roby (please see the first comment) as she approached the fourth planet of the Zed Zolar Zystem on another mission to cause some UFO sightings. Ever since Earz's closest neighbour, the Rose Planet, had been made inhabitable, and a commercial shuttle service has been established, it has become the dernier cri for Earzlings to have a cottage on Marz, and to spend at least a few weeks there each year. Since Roby so enjoyed to cause UFO sightings on Earz – they always cause such a pleasant buzz, and they always guarantee such a huge TV, internet and newspaper coverage –, she had decided to expand her planet coverage.

As you know, Marz possesses two irregularly shaped moons, Phoebe and Deizel, and here you can see Phoebe with its characteristic protrusions facing Marz' west pole in the famous "Afternoon Tea" constellation that Phoebe reaches every day precisely at five o'clock in the afternoon, while Deizel is still hidden from the beholder's view, hovering over Marz' south pole (also known as "Marz' kitchen"). Unlike the Earz-like Marz, both Phoebe and Deimos consist mostly of NaCl. This breakthrough discovery made during the 2021 Marz mission "Perzeverance" – which had been expanded to the exploration of Phoebe and Deizel in 2022 after the Marz rover's AI had miraculously developed awareness, and was therefore able to conduct and expand self-reliant experiments beyond Marz' surface – was the final proof that Marz, Phoebe and Deizel originated from the Zechstein Zea (located in the European Permian Bazin which stretches from the east coast of England to northern Poland). It layed the foundation for the settlement of Marz under Perzy's (the name the Marz rover chose for it-, pardon herself) conduct.

So what do we have here: A backlit rose quartz sphere / ball – 2,5 cm / 0,98 inches in diameter –, and a side lit rock salt (Steinsalz) crystal which is 0,9 cm / 0,35 inches wide. I had to focus-stack both the salt crystal and the rose quartz, because anything stopped down further than f/4 resulted in a too prominent background (black glitter foamsheet), but with this relatively wide open aperture I never managed to get both the salt and rose quartz sharp in one shot. The salt crystal was held in place by tweezers (which I'd mounted on a clamp) – another idea had been to photograph the salt crystal only and make it look like a precious raw diamond held by a diamond cutter's tweezers for a close inspection of the "stone's" quality –, and I've retouched the tweezers with the clone stamp in Photoshop post-processing. Further processing was done in Analog Efex.

Rose Quartz. For 'Looking Close on Friday'. Theme: Selective colour Pink'

This weeks Smile on Saturday theme is 'gemstones' (18-Jul-2020), so I used my heart to choose things that are good for it.

A life size bunch of rose quartz grapes, with a shell.

(Yes, for those with a good memory, the same shell from my previous shot.)

HSoS everyone!

Note: I don't have a burning passion for grapes, of any sort. The're nice and all, but the Rose Quartz variety is known for its heart healing properties.

Shells, however ... :-D

For the Smile on Saturday challenge: "gemstones"

There are many minerals and rocks that are so very beautiful, and they don't have to be expensive either. Cleaned, cut or tumbled to a show a smooth surface they look good enough to eat! I am lucky in having two friends who collect gemstones and minerals, and I have a small treasure chest of their finds!

Here are a few: Sodalite (blue) Rose Quartz (clear pink) Amethyst (clear purple) Citrine (clear yellow) Carnelian (orange with dark ends) Banded Agate (lots of little stripes)

HSoS ;o)

update: this beautiful pink quartz nightlight holder was a gift to me from our daughter Clare (1974 to 2022)

A small sample of rose quartz - standing on glass for reflection.

For 10Sept18 MM challenge 'Rock'.

To be accurate a piece of rose quartz , taken for Saturday Self Challenge this weekend which is something Pink . This was a stand by shot if I could not track down my first idea , that being now found and captured this is now a regular shot .

Rose quartz is a pink-colored variety of the mineral quartz. It is part of the quartz crystal family and is composed primarily of silicon dioxide molecules. The stone is abundant, common, and found in large quantities at numerous locations around the world. Its name is derived from its soft rose color, which ranges from very pale pink to deep reddish pink. Rose quartz usually occurs in massive form, though it sometimes grows in clusters of small prismatic crystals.

Uploaded for the Weekly Colour Challenge.

This may be pushing the boundaries a bit but it's the closest I have to Coral Pink. Cheers.

...Nice to meet you folks, my name is Chichita, and I am the one and only human sized rosequartz skull of which Tatiana is the caretaker... For now at least. maybe you knew, and maybe you don't, but we, crystal skulls have the ability to choose our caretakers, and when we feel we do not wish to stay with the present caretaker - we ask to be released and find a new caretaker usually promptly. But I feel very well in her home, nice and cozy, and am here to stay for awhile. Maybe you would also like to know that I was carved from a very big piece of rosequartz from Magadaskar 7 years ago. And the carving of me happened also on Magadaskar. And me and several of the other skulls she takes care of are residing on her desk next to one of the monitors. My weight is 3.486 kg. Tatiana has a blog dedicated to her quartz skulls and if interested to learn more about us you should visit Skull.in Bye for now :) The best is to View On Black

I was at a loss for a name for this but thought the loops looked a bit like the breasts on the famous Artemis statue (half down the page here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artemis) so that's what I called it *shrug*.

I always loved Goldie Hawn who said,

"The interesting part of my spiritual life

is studying as much as you can.

Islam and Buddhism and Hinduism and Shamanism and Judaism, Christianity - you try to learn what the precepts are, what the religion is, and ultimately, it's based in the same thought,

it's based in the same outcome, you know."

Rose Quartz for Macro Mondays. This piece of quartz is the base for an air plant which you can just see at the top of the photo.

Land of Fairies, as its name suggests, brings to mind a magical land of unspeakable joy, lovely dreams and beautiful creations. Besides the pretty Kamoe-clay bead, the bracelet comprises czech glass beads of different pink and peach shades, a pink rose quartz, agate butterfly, acrylic flower, gold fairy charm, 14k gold-plated components etc.

I dedicated my PPT Photo today(a hint of pink) to my wonderful friend Judy..
