My kids are having friends stay the night tonight. I made them root beer floats and served them in real beer glasses. Does that make me a bad parent?

root beer float!

Derrick made the vanilla ice cream, & we purchased the root beer. His new co-workers take turns for "pairings" on Fridays, and this is Derrick's first time up.

My first made-from-scratch batch of cupcakes ever. Happy Birthday, Dan!

We had lunch at MoMA's Terrace 5 cafe. Linda had a roasted-cauliflower-and-blue-cheese tart. I had a warm farro salad. For dessert I treated myself to an old-fashioned root beer float. Yum!

I had a Coney Dog with cheese, fries and a root beer float here at this A&W. Mmmmm!

This A&W is located at Cabazon, California along the I-10, near Palm Springs.

My blog entry about this is here.

The taste of my childhood! 'A&W' has since became 'extinct' in Singapore - a dinosaur, so to speak. But here in Okinawa, with its huge US military presence, 'A&W' is thriving and well.

This was the indulgence taste of my childhood - a thick mug of root beer with ice cream on top. The sweet, caramelic, slight medicinal taste of the room beer, worked really well with the creaminess of the ice cream and it was satisfaction guaranteed to down a frosty mug on a typical hot & muggy Singaporean afternoon!
