My attempt to make swordfish with carmelized belgian endive went horribly awry, as I burnt the endive, so I consoled myself with a delicious root beer float.
Okay, so it's been a while since I've been to Jack in the Box. Had the day off of work, so decided to hit up the local Jack. Some of the guys at work seem to hate the place, so it seemed like a good choice for one of those rare times I eat by myself. I have to admit it was pretty good, in a kind of awful way--sometimes you just get a craving for those deep-fried tacos, and grease-burger patty melts. I wasn't really going for moderation, but I guess I was hungrier than I thought; I finished it all.
Root beer float from the Los Angeles County Fair! Prettier than it tasted-- soft-serve is not as good as real ice cream.
Ethan from Tastes Better With Friends and Mardi from Eat. Live. Travel. Write. having a great dinner at O&B Canteen. Great food, great company. The executive chef joined us for a bit and sent us out these little mini rootbeer floats!

My whole life, I have never had a root beer float, so I thought it was weird that a few days ago, I suddenly had this huge craving for one.
I REALLY wanted to satisfy this craving, so I went the whole nine yards; I researched what the best ingredients would be (turned out it was based on taste), went out bought a mug, and chilled it overnight.
Maybe not a winter drink but IT WAS TOTALLY GOOD!!!!
(Next time though, I'm going to use more ice cream)
