Last Monday someone had spotted a subadult black-crowned night heron (Nycticorax nycticorax) (in dutch: Kwak) in a certain place. But I couldn't go and look. On Tuesday another birdwatcher had seen 2 species. On Wednesday I could finally go and look and they were nicely visible. I could photograph number 1 and 2. On Thursday I went back and then there were three!!! Number 3 is possibly the third, but the other 2 were behind too many branches for a good photo.

Water is rood,

Usually a large group of siskins winter here but this winter hardly any were seen. On a sunny day I was able to photograph a few.
