Sneaky look at this and I usually experience that longing for a getaway moment. If you ever, you should know what happens when you let the dog see the rabbit. The chase is on and you find yourself dragging your carcass along hoping you won't find yourself in the wrong ditch. To venture beyond one's comfort zone may feel on occasion like "romancing the stone", too hot while in full sun then bringing warm comfort while giving heat away after sunset.
If you feel this is full of birds, wait until you fall in love and become a poet.
This evening, I started shooting from 5:30pm and was waiting for a miracle - hoping for a color burst on clouds. According to forecast, it was not likely that there would be a color burst on clouds, but I was still waiting for the last light of the sunset and cross my fingers for blue hour. Somehow. it turned out that some smog rolled in and reflected a purple sky.
I was attempting to capture swirls under the fall. I started with 5 sec and increased to 30 sec, but the result was not satisfactory. Then, I changed to Bulb and got a decent swirl with 110 sec. I then put on polarizer on top of ND8, and tried to jump to 220 sec. I was only able to do one shot of a 3 portrait pano, because sunset color was fading - the other reason was parking meter expiring - most photographer has a limited budget, hehe! Anyway, this was an expansive shot. Parking in the Fall area was not cheap. My opinion is that operating cost of nature photography in Canada is more affordable that doing photography in tourist area, disregarding the investment in fixed assets. It costs no loonie to hike in woods. Yes! We are pursuing Romance (of PhotoArt) with worldly fortune.

While it's not the right time of the year to plant Crocus corms or seeds, it's a great time to get a look at all the colors and varieties in their natural settings - and not just as they look on bulb catalog pages when you go to order them.
These sweet little cream & yellow crocuses are Crocus chrysanthus 'Romance', earlier today in the soft morning light. They're commonly called "Snow Crocus" because they're one of the first to bloom at the end of Winter/early Spring - often even popping up through the snow. They're lush and beautiful, forming tight mounds of creamy golden flowers. :)
