so yesterday we celebrated the kids' best friends 9th birthday with her and her family... to our delight it was at the roller skating rink!! we LOVE us some skating!!!! thats right... im one of the oldest chicks rollin around out there but i dont care!! its TOO much fun!!! so anyhoo... were out there having a blast when i notice a young girl with a pair of skates and a wheeled walker... id never seen anything like that before!! the host of the party recgonizes her and her family and explains that the girl.. who is the only one with a physical handicap... is one of a set of Quads!!! she pointed out the rest....there they ALL were... stumbling all over the place... obviously new to the whole skating thing... my first instinct was to point them out to my girls... they Love to help new people on the floor... then i realized that no help was nessasary!!! to the rescue came their dad... he looked a bit older and tired... that was no matter... he zoomed up behind his daughters' walker and swirled her round and round that rink!!! he was sweating and exahausted but he never let her see it!! i couldnt help but watch this man... once he noticed his other 3 were having a difficult time staying on their feet he was at their side!!! alternating the three of them in his 2 arms... he was like Super Man!!! before long he was wizzing past me to attend to his walker bound daughter... although she was managing her self ok.... he was there to ease the burden on her arms.... he did this for what i noticed was the next 2 hours!!! back and forth... sweating.. panting... surely aching.... i made a point to tell him how amazing of a father i thought he was... i just wish there was an even More grander way to express to this father how Wonderful he really and truly is and what a Priceless lesson he taught me!!!

They looked so great in the shop and they weren't that expensive... But when I tried rollerskating I failed. Couldn't even walk on them! When I was a kid (8, 10 years old) I had rollerskates which you had to attach to your boots or shoes. Now, I wanted the real one. But alas, it was no succes...
So I sold them...
I've had these rollerskates since I was 14 years of age. They still fit 26 years later, and I can still skate without falling over. The have streetsnake wheels - expensive at the time. And I had an alternate set of 4 disco wheels too.
