Kurt Sweitzer of Cobden packs green beans Aug. 17 during the Carbondale Farmers Market in the Westtown Mall parking lot.

Sweitzer said they also sell at other Farmers Markets in the area. “We usually run out of tomatoes and beans at every market

Dr. Wendy Weinhold conducts Safe Zone Training Friday for Recreation Center student employees. Weinhold said the training she conducts was developed by Jessica Pettitt, a nationally known diversity educator. “Today, 180 people participated in the Safe Zone Training,” Weinhold said.

Mario Sosa, of Staten Island, plays with his children Adam, 2, and Alia, 6, both of Carbondale, Saturday at Attucks Park. Sosa said he brings the kids to parks whenever the weather is nice. “I like to make sure they are outside when it’s out,” Sosa said. “Especially with the random weather changes.”
