The Maas is a famous river that is almost 1000 kilometers long and runs through the Netherlands, Belgium and France. Prior to taking this photo, I enjoyed watching the rippling water of this river Meuse along the quay on Willemsplein. It is wonderfully soothing to experience that at riverside. When this beautiful large inland vessel sailed under the impressive Erasmus Bridge, I took this picture. While taking the photo, I paid a lot of attention to the composition. I hope you like it.

De maas is een tot de verbeelding sprekende rivier die bijna 1000 kilometer lang is en zowel door Nederland, België als Frankrijk loopt. Voorafgaand aan het maken van deze foto heb ik een tijd lang naar het kabbelende water langs de kade op het Willemsplein gekeken. Ik kan het iedereen aanraden, want het geeft een rustgevend en vredig gevoel. Toen dit mooie grote binnenvaartschip onder de iconische Erasmusbrug door vaarde heb ik deze foto gemaakt waarbij ik veel aandacht heb geschonken aan de compositie.

Opposite the beautiful Erasmus Bridge in the center of Rotterdam is the high-rise building Hoge Erasmus with a modern design. The building is very functional, as it consists of offices, residential apartments and parking facilities.The renowned architectural firm Klunder Architecten designed the building. Although it is certainly not the tallest building in Rotterdam, the view from both the offices and the higher-lying apartments is truly phenomenal.

Tegenover de prachtige Erasmusbrug in het centrum van Rotterdam staat de wolkenkrabber Hoge Erasmus. Het heeft een strak en modern design. Het gebouw is ook zeer functioneel, want het bestaat uit kantoren, woonappartementen en parkeervoorzieningen. Het gerenommeerde architectenbureau Klunder Architecten ontwierp het gebouw. Hoewel het zeker niet het hoogste gebouw van Rotterdam is, is het uitzicht vanuit zowel de lager gelegen kantoren als de hoger gelegen appartementen werkelijk fenomenaal.

The Calypso building in the center of Rotterdam is a very special building due to its special design and combination of colours. When you play a song from the space-synth genre (a kind of subgenre of Italo Disco) you get the feeling of spaceships and a life in space. Every time I walk past the building, the design gives me that same kind of feeling. My intention to take the photo in this slightly oblique way is to make the futuristic contours of the building stand out even more and to create an artistic effect.

Het Calypso-gebouw in het centrum van Rotterdam is een heel bijzonder gebouw door zijn bijzondere vormgeving en combinatie van kleuren. Wanneer je een nummer speelt uit het space-synth genre (een soort subgenre van Italo Disco) krijg je het gevoel van ruimteschepen en een leven in de ruimte. Elke keer als ik langs het gebouw loop, geeft het ontwerp me datzelfde gevoel. Ik heb de foto op deze ietwat schuine manier genomen om de futuristische contouren van het gebouw nog meer tot uitdrukking te laten komen en om er een kunstzinnige draai aan te geven.

This is a very special abandoned building in Rotterdam South. At the front and back of the former school building, a ship's sail has been incorporated as if the building were a ship. Once here before I uploaded a photo of a broken window of this building. It is a real shame that such a beautiful and original building has been empty and unused for a long time. The building is now often a favorite object for vandals.

In Rotterdam Zuid staat een heel bijzonder gebouw dat momenteel helaas niet in gebruik is. Aan de voorkant en de achterkant van het voormalige schoolgebouw zijn scheepszeilen verwerkt alsof het gebouw een schip is. Ik had al eerder een keer hier een ingegooide ruit van dit gebouw geüpload hier. Het is echt heel erg zonde dat zo’n prachtig en origineel gebouw leegstaat en regelmatig een prooi is voor vandalen.

In the popular game Star Trek Online, there is a mission that takes place in and around the yellow Koolhaas star. This star consists of 2 planets. The game's creators named the planetary system after Rem Koolhaas. The world famous Dutch architect has designed several buildings around the world. He is the main founder of the prestigious Office for Metropolitan Architecture aka OMA, where master architect Reinier de Graaf is a full partner of the eight. Koolhaas and his OMA have realized several innovative projects in the Netherlands and in the whole world. The multiple national and international architect prize winner Koolhaas has also founded AMO, a kind of think tank where also technology development for Prada, Dubai Next, future strategy for Volkswagen and many other projects are being shaped. ‘De Rotterdam’ building was also designed by Koolhaas and his team. The block structure is very multifunctional and impressive to see so close to the Erasmus Bridge on the Willemskade. In terms of square meters, this is the largest building in the Netherlands. The name ‘De Rotterdam’ refers to the flagship of the Holland America line. Until 1973 tens of thousands of Europeans emigrated to America through the HAL on the same quay. The building is a kind of vertical city with three towers and 38 floors divided into six layers. On the half is a horizontal cut that splits the building into a low-rise and a high-rise section. In the building(s) you can work, live and have fun. I took the photo a bit obliquely to give an artistic look and to make the block structure stand out even more.

In het populaire spel Star Trek Online is er een missie die zich afspeelt in en rond de gele Koolhaas-ster. Deze ster bestaat uit 2 planeten. De makers van het spel noemden het planetenstelsel naar Rem Koolhaas. De wereldberoemde Nederlandse architect heeft verschillende gebouwen over de hele wereld ontworpen. Hij is de belangrijkste oprichter van het prestigieuze Office for Metropolitan Architecture alias OMA, waar meesterarchitect Reinier de Graaf een volwaardige partner is van de acht. Oil spills are a major problem in the world of rivers and seas. The Netherlands is a top country in all areas of the ship industry. Dutch recovery companies are among the very best in the world. Holland is also a top player when it comes to cleaning up leaked oil after oil spills. The Hebo-Cat 9 is an innovative boat built at the impressive De Groot shipyard in Moerdijk. It has an advanced crane on board. The yellow ship is owned by Hebo Maritiem Service and is specialized in cleaning up wasted or discharged oil in ports or on rivers. Yesterday the boat was active in Maashaven in South Rotterdam near the metro station of the same name.

Nederlandse bergingsbedrijven behoren tot de allerbeste van de wereld. Bij het opruimen van gelekte olie na olierampen is Holland ook een topspeler. One more tableau de la troupe from the diplomatic incident between the Netherlands and Turkey that became known in Dutch as the Turkijerel. It is about the last one. I left the scene at 23.40, wanting to catch the train to Amsterdam. Therefore I missed the subsequent rioting.
