From the archives....views of Rock Isle Lake, located at Sunshine Meadows in Banff National Park....great little spot to hike and enjoy some spectacular Canadian Rockies scenery without all the crowds....and the wildflowers were amazing. A bit hazy on this particular day because of forest fires in the area but still beautiful.
Have a great Tuesday.....thanks for all your visits and comments!!!!

With their ornate brick facades and gables, Lübeck's medieval salt storage houses make for a great tapestry. As a major trading hub for commerce in the Baltics between, roughly, 1400 and 1700, one source of Lübeck's wealth was salt – harvested from salt wells in the region and sold to Scandinavia, where it was used to preserve fish.

The spotted rock-rose, Tuberaria guttata, has to be one of my favourite wildflowers. They are tiny, and it's easy to walk right past them without noticing their beauty, but when you get close they are truly stunning flowers.

Our friend has been at it for some time now. I haven't seen him keep anything yet, several throw backs but still he persists. My fishing days are long behind me, now I cast for photos.

The last photo from the reserve "Piekło" ("Hell") in Poland :)
The Rocks "Piekło" (Hell Rocks) near Niekłań is the inanimate nature reserve, located in the Stęporków commune. The reserve was established in 1959 to protect interesting sandstone formations caused by wind erosion. It covers an area of over 6 ha of mixed forest with a predominance of 200-year-old pines and oaks, but the greatest value of the reserve are picturesque rocks carved by erosive processes in Triassic and Lower Jurassic sandstones. On a length of several hundred meters, there is a series of monadnocks, taking unusual shapes, such as rock mushrooms, chimneys or pulpits. Their height reaches in height from 2 to 8 m. Fantastic forms and their dark color were probably the reason for many legends and names. The reserve is also a concentration of rich flora and fauna.

Został utworzony w 1959 r. w celu zachowania osobliwych form skalnych. Obejmuje powierzchnię ponad 6 ha lasu mieszanego z przewagą 200-letnich sosen i dębów, jednak największą wartość rezerwatu stanowią malownicze skałki wyrzeźbione przez procesy erozyjne w triasowych i dolnojurajskich piaskowcach. Skałki tworzą dwa oddzielne skupiska: wschodnie i zachodnie.
People like you and I, though mortal of course like everyone else, do not grow old no matter how long we live...[We] never cease to stand like curious children before the great mystery into which we were born.

Lewis and Harris. Mangersta Rock Stacks, which I was desperate to return to. Pity tho, it was so windy and squally, showery, it was only possible to take mobile phone snaps. The stormy weather certainly made for dramatic seas. This is one angle, but tho you can walk out onto the point, had to return and do that another day, as the winds were so fierce, it wouldn't have been safe.
