have been rendered inert by Covid pandemic

and general lethargy ...

but we talk about it often

so maybe that is the first step ...

We were camped next to Scott in Petaluma, CA, an iron worker on the Golden Gate Bridge restoration project. Rivets from the original construction where being replaced with high strength structural steel bolts - around 2003.

Here are some of the remaining riveted pipes that fed water into the Duck Reach hydro electric station. In this post-industrial age it is a wonderful thing to see such dedicated workmanship in the crafting of metal pipes.

Burlington Canal Lift Bridge in Hamilton Ontario. The lift bridge allows boats to pass through the canal from Lake Ontario to Hamilton Harbour by lifting the 4 lane road bridge up 33m (108 ft)
