"Ripper" a composite of a couple of my images and a couple of other elements.
This one started it's life as a simple composite for an example in some course material I'm putting together.
My daughter adopted Korman from a shelter 9 years ago. He was truly a gentle giant, loved by family and all who met him. He was Tracey's protector and companion while her husband John served tours of duty with the Marine Corps in Iraq and Afghanistan. Korman died peacefully today. He was 14.
Rest in peace Robert Himler. I didn't watch his vids much, but he seemed to be very involved with the car community.
Today I learned that one of my favorite flickr photograhers has left the world. What a sad day. My prayers and condolenses to Gaëtan's family.
I will miss the scenes he so wonderfully captured.
This officially kicks off a new feature, my RIP album. It will be comprised of my photographic subjects that no longer exist. I never like seeing former subjects disappear but am always glad that I have a record of them.
This neon is one of my earliest posts to the Mick L FLICKR photostream and one of the few times that I knew in advance that the building would be demolished. This version of the P-Club ended forever although a much lesser club resurrected the name later at another location.
I took many outside shots over a few days, and the owner of the club kindly allowed me to photograph interior signs on closing night. I was also a long-time patron of the P-Club, which had some good entertainment at times and always offered excellent free popcorn. It was a major entertainment venue in its halcyon days and many hockey and football stars sometimes visited.
I put 10 photos of other some of the other P-Club pics plus other RIP subjects in the album (see below) and will add more with new posts through time.
Candles at the ready, folks! 56048 wheels MGR empties for Falkland Jn alongside the Firth of Forth at Culross. 8th November 1996. Amazing that this is now history.
I was saddened When I heard the news of Jane Goodall passing.
What a strong, intelligent, beautiful and brave woman she was.
I hadn't been to AWT in months. A very sad revelation for me about Rhi.
I stopped in to see if the look had changed again, since I last visited.
I used to visit the dance floor all the time, a very long time ago. An illness robbed me of my exact memories there. But I do remember the good feelings AWT brought me.
Very sad news...
Shot at A Woman's Touch
A re-edit of an earlier image but appropriate, I think.
RAF Tristar ZD952 captured on arrival at Brize Norton on 08.08.2013. This airframe was delivered to Air Salvage International at Kemble yesterday, 03.02.2013, for 'storage'.
The fate of the RAF's Tristar fleet is shrouded in mystery with one report (from a normally reliable source) stating that the aircraft are due to be scrapped in the US. Another stating that a Tristar at Kemble (ZD952?) was seen today minus engines.
Whatever, with an OSD of April, the wind down has begun.

US Marines lead the funeral procession for John Glenn from the Ohio Statehouse to Mershon Auditorium on the campus of The Ohio State University.
Leaf Ripper - I was seeking an interesting wing shape (I'm keen on these!, e.g. Star-Ship) canted relative to the fuselage. I had fun with the rear engine cowl tying the design together.
The color scheme was lifted from the old Constructicons; this prevented use of locking hinges, as they're unavailable in lime.
The lovers were oh so happy but as sometimes happens it all changed ..... now the couple have been ripped apart
Hope you have a great day
This lovely brick building has been destroyed to make room for another luxury over-expensive building. I was fortunate to get that shot just one day before it was destroyed. RIP.
Woke to sad news this morning, Jef Campion, Army of One was found dead of unknown causes on Friday. One of my favorite street artists he is really the reason why I started photographing street art in NYC. His message and heart were pure.
A NY (Yonkers) Firefighter for almost 30 years, Jef was also a huge champion for The Ronald McDonald House... reading the tributes on the web just reinforces what a great guy we have lost.
This shot was taken on May Day in 2012 when I finally got to meet the man, whose work I had been chasing.
RIP Jef your voice will be missed!
I shall post a number of RIPs for buildings that disappeared this year. This was a bad year for disappearing buildings on account of an extraordinarily heavy snowfall over a few days.
This was located on a working farm that was loaded with junk including this house, an old barn, vehicles and several complete ruins. A couple of weeks ago I noticed that this house and the barn were completely gone but most of the other junk remained.
