I’m feeling as though I’ve been in a slight slump lately. Perhaps Tomorrow will be better! No Strobist info for today!

Some like their eggs scrambled.
Some like their eggs poached.
Some like their eggs fried.
Me, I like my eggs chocolatey.
Taken for the Macro Monday theme of 'Broken'.

Late home this evening after meeting someone from industry and having a very lengthy but interesting chat about what the future holds for engineering. Potentially sowing some seeds too for future plans.
Macro Mondays group theme this week is 'Egg' and I went for something simple and clean as I wanted symmetry and patterns, although it had to be tight in order to comply with the 3 inch rule.
Tough theme when I've not prepared, but always helpful to keep me on track with my Project 365.
Starting a new role which means that there will be all sorts of new things to learn and understand as I adapt to a new culture and ethos but I'm genuinely looking forward to it.
I'm a passionate learner and get bored if sat still for too long and I'm constantly looking to sharpen the saw.
Today's Macro Monday theme is Found in the Kitchen, so I went for a macro shot of my knife sharpener, because it's blunt knives that you end up cutting yourself with... not sharp ones.
Macro Mondays theme this week is “Sweet or Savoury” and so I've ransacked my daughter's sweety bag she got after school and liberated some old school foam teeth.

There things that go on in our heads that do not necessarily connect to the physical world outside of our heads. The human psyche is capable of believing literally anything.
Some people imagine they were a Pharaoh in a previous life, or that they've astral travelled to the moon and back. Others chose more traditional faiths, yet all offer a sense of comfort or empowerment.
Each helps us NOT to accept fully our mortal reality, but to substitute an alternate reality that gives hope.
Ultimately however, we all come face to face with the world as it actually is - beautiful and scary, painful yet full of bliss.
Wonderful but passing.
It was depressingly cold out again this morning and I recalled a poem from childhood called the Cremation of Sam Mcgee. At least we are not getting the blizzard that is threatening to cripple the Northeast US. There may be a silver lining to the uber cold snap.

Macro Monday theme for this week was Triangle, so my wife helpfully suggested that I take a macro of my pyraminx rubiks cube.
I've become slowly addicted to rubiks cubes over the past few years and usually have one in my coat pocket when commuting to keep my hands busy so I can listen to my audio book properly.
Having found quite a few eggs on some milkweed on a path that was about to be mowed, I snipped off the tops and brought them home. Now have about 10 perfect little eggs and several just-emerged tiny caterpillars. Let the games begin...
pocket knife. Always have it in my pocket, along with the background shown, which is a handkerchief. Handshot with a ringlight , nothing complicated.

I got myself some LED lights ... a couple of spots and a ring light ... to tinker around with ... I have a kind of 'pop-up' studio and I wanted to see what sort of effects you can achieve without lots of fancy equipment ... this image ... of my lovely friend Amy ... was achieved by running some black pallet wrap from the edge of the ring light to a wire suspended behind Amy ... I quite like the effect!
Today's macro monday theme was 'Eyes' and all the obvious variations had already been done, and done well.
My wife remembered though that we had a bag of googly eyes in the craft box, which rescued me at the last minute!

Today we made a construction for my ringlight so I can put it on a tripod in front of the camera. On the other photo's I had to hold it in my hand, wich is not handy ;).
Emiel had a stand-by day today, wich was a nice suprise. He had a call from his boss that monday probably will be an allnighter. So we're gonna relax this weekend. Sunday we're going to Wieke and Herman (www.dropproductions.nl/ and www.wiekevanwerkhoven.nl )
I'm looking forward to it!
As u can see I did a Bimbo shoot today ;)
