Model: Julia McIvor

This image was taken at night in a swimming pool. I illuminated the scene with one LED lamp (1000w) only. No flash. My camera (Sony RX1) was housed in a RECSEA underwater casing and I sank myself to the bottom of the pool while Julia repeated tried to drown herself in a full-length dress.

Holly was our patient model at camera club last night, this was my favourite image from the night.

Happy Macro Monday Everyone !

A acrylic prism totally made me think of my favorite Pink Floyd song "Wish You Were Here"

I love my printer. It works fine. The ink is discontinued. So I guess they are going to force me to replace it.

Not a duplicate of the previous upload! This is focus bracketed (8 shots taken with different focus, and one picked out). Previous upload was a jpg produced from a focus-stacked jpg, whereas this is a jpg produced from a single raw. My analysis here is that for the extra detail added in the stacked image, some of that is unwanted (backscatter), and that I have to post-produce a jpg rather than a raw. Other observations welcome!

An empty, translucent skull. Found the bird a year or so ago and left outside protected to rot away, leaving a mostly intact skeleton.

Used a ringlight behind the skull and out of shot (so the skull was in the centre of the ringlight).

2 lights a 30x40 softbox camera right and and a ringlight with a grid camera left for some rim. Why a ringlight? cause it was on a stand and it was close. same little girl in this photo flickr.com/photos/roweportraitstudios/2255526877/

have a nice sunday my friends!!

Question: what's the color of this shot on your screen? normally it's a brown (soft sepia) toned bw image... because on my grandmother's screen it's a little bit green! :( i hope my color settings are right at home... so please write down what kind of tones do you see on this image? thanks

My girlfriend inherited this guitar. Well, actually, her sister did and I have had it for 3 months to shoot. Needles to say It's about time I give it back so I have been playing with it. As it is black and the chrome is pretty much white, I noticed the colorful anchors to the strings. I love different, close-up angles like this and the colors were a bonus. I wanted the neck and strings in the shot so everyone would know it is a guitar and I liked how they appear to be moving due to the shallow depth of field.

It was fairly difficult to get the light on that chrome bar (tailpiece) the strings are anchored in. I liked the gradient light in the top part, which came from an SB-26 firing into my ceiling, but the side facing the camera was black until I put a piece of foam-core around my lens and fired two strobes into it. It kind of worked out like a ring light, although it wasn't round.

I also used a couple SB-26s at the other end to light the table and seperate the body from it. Check out my setup shot to see exactly what I mean... www.mophoto.co
