This is a little dragonfly I found in my garden this morning. I took these in reverse style with my 18-55 mm lens and blasted him at least 100 times with my flash, I'm pretty sure he is blind now.
Macros taken with a 100mm Macro lens coupled with a reversed 50mm prime lens for extra magnification.
This was done using a conon 40D with the 18-55mm lens attached. Then a minolta 50mm f1.4 hand held on the front reversed. licken growing on the fence post. like it.
decided to try my hand at reverse macro.
i attached my crappy sigma 70-300 to the camera and held my canon 50 1.4 up to it.
I learned about the reverse macro technique from this picture and had to try it out. It takes a lot of patience but also is a lot of fun!

Rescued this guy from the pond, well I say rescued, i'd walked past him 3hrs previously thinking "you'll never sting again ye son of a b*tch.. oooh i'll photograph you later too..."
Anywho. Turns out he was alive, thankfully I didn't find this out till after the shoot was over :-)
This was my first attempt at a reverse macro shot. It's not perfect, but it's also not half bad. I actually kind of like the way it turned out.
