Haven't taken any macro shots for some time. Finally got around to it before the season was over. Reversed 24mm on two extension tubes and flash with snoot.
It works great on black jeans and heavy cotton. I have had problems on some blue jeans. I'm going to do some more experiments. I'm going to make another jean quilt for some friends that got married this last summer.
Here's a reverse angle shot of the Nickel Plate #190 Alco PA making its way towards Spencer at Hinckley, IL, on a BNSF stack train. The lettering at the rear indicates the lesser-known real railroading name of the Nickel Plate, the New York, Chicago & Saint Louis Railroad.

Green cast on the right is from my mouse pad. This lens's focusing ring is opposite from most Nikons... it's clockwise to focus closer rather than anticlock wise to focus closer (from back).

It's good to see the revival of Canfranc station, and the adjacent hotel, which will soon be taking guests once again after it's closure in 1970. Hope still exists for the route to France through the Somport Tunnel to be re-opened, following agreements by the French Aquitaine Regional Council, and likewise on the Spanish side by Aragon Local Government, with an ambitious 2026 target date, which will obviously be delayed due to the Pandemic. Here, 2150, the train having reversed at Huesca, sits in the new RENFE Station, waiting departue for Zaragoza, it's route back there being just over 150 miles, (242km) in length.
The reverse prayer yoga pose is one of my favourite stretches. It really pulls at your shoulders and wrists. Oddly, my right arm gets really strained but not my left, probably due to atrocious computer posture. I'm trying to even out the flexibility of both arms.
I found out at work that googling "reverse prayer" is definitely NSFW. It's apparently a position also used in BDSM.
This is how I did those reverse macros. I taped my 50mm onto my 18-55 kit lens. 50mm focused at infinity and aperture opened up all the way. The 18-55 was focused as close as possible (autofocus turned on the camera turned off but left on on the lens to lock it in place). It seems to work pretty well until I get a real Macro lens.

Did a little playing with roses this evening. I did what was called a reverse technique to open the rose up. You just gently fold the petals back in the wrong direction to make a huge bloom. These are gorgeous to do a large number of them and make a bridal bouquet out of them. I guess once a Florist, always a Florist! lol I actually went to my old shop and dug roses out of the garbage to do this with. Older roses work better for this than fresh crisp ones.
