Recycle, Reuse & Regenerate...

is not just about building bigger recycling box.

It is about educating & creating awareness amongst the masses on the purpose & meaning of recycling! What can be reuse and how to reuse. AND if we recycle & reuse, we will regenerate our world for our children!

Go green ermmm... in this case go YELLOW! :)

Creative Mornings Madrid: Reuse

frame 46

Matte size (in): 4x4

Frame outer size (in): 10x10

Material: weathered tongue and groove pine flooring

Source (approx age): Residential House, South Buffalo, NY (approx 1900)

Price: 20.00

4x4 inch (matte size) picture or photo frame.

Made from recycled flooring from a green deconstructed house in south Buffalo, New York. several houses were deconstructed and the materials salvaged by Action Reuse (reuseaction.com or see their photo set on flickr). The houses were removed for expansion of a nearby hospital. the wood is flooring that is approximately 100 years old and is yellow pine. It bears the mark of years and untold numbers of feet tromping across it. Most was/is being recycled into new flooring but I liked the color and grain and marking on it. The original tongue can be seen around the edges and the former groove is now the rabbet that holds the glass. Each piece is mitered and biscuit joined together so they are quite sturdy.

The glass is also reclaimed from old stock or salvaged window frames. Each is finished with water based polyurethane finish and has keyholes for hanging. The only parts that aren't recycled are the biscuits, glue and glazier's points so they are ecologically friendly (if only a little in the total scheme). But these make a beautiful statement about the the preciousness and the futility of throwing so much away in the landfills.

I have about a dozen baby jars. So I grabbed three and made them into hanging lamps with some copper wire I got from my neighbor who is a major re-use kind of consumer. I even had some used tea lights left from last year. All re-used materials!

I imagine hanging these everywhere in the trees.

Creative Mornings Madrid: Reuse

I love to use reusable bags when I go shopping. I have a whole bunch of them that I keep in my car for when I go to the store.

Reduce, reuse, recycle. Look for an object that has been repurposed to give it new life, and make a photo. (@muffett68)

O.K. let me join the Friday night - out of inspiration - club:

the standard reuse of empty bottles as candle holders....

The vanity is furniture my sister didn't want to take with her and the elephants are something she's collected for years. The top shelf has a reused frame and some canvas art that came in a set of 3 at Urban Outfitters that I really didn't want.

I need to track down more of these reusable shopping bag!

SoMa Reuse Fair, organized and hosted by PSU Capstone students, August 2014

am trying out some of the features of the new android cellphone -- this is another attempt at inverted colors for ANSH scavenger7, using a reusable shopping bag as the subject. more colorful that the trees and snow, eh??. i'll post the inverted one in the first comment box.... on the bag it says the artist who created the design is Marina Kulik

btb, the black dots, streaks and smudges on inverted one are actually these shiny spots on the 'original'

This pen holder is made with a piece of discarded 4"x6" cedar fence post trim found on a construction site.

If you are like me, who can never have enough room on a desk, then this is for you! It’s a simple and easy diy that not only helps to reduce clutter on your desk, but also adds a unique piece of modern decor on your wall!

If you are super organized, unlike me, you can use it on your desk or as a book end!

The geometric pattern is inspired by mid-centry modern designs. Check out the tutorial here

Deboxing the Hasbro Village Dress Belle. First I cut off the front plastic cover from the backing by using a sharp knife. The box isn't very reusable, as it glued together, so you have to destroy it to get the doll out of the packaging.

Detailed photos of the Disney Beauty and the Beast Village Dress Belle doll by Hasbro. She is a posable doll of Belle in her blue peasant dress, from the upcoming live action Beauty and the Beast movie (March 17, 2017). I bought her from from ToysRUs, for $14.99. She was released on January 1, 2017, and is still available online (with free shipping) and in stores. She has less articulation than Disney Store dolls, with totally stiff legs. Belle has a one piece satin outfit with white blouse, blue skirt, blue bodice and apron with red trim. She is wearing brown shoes and molded socks, with low heels, but she is on tippy toes, so she can't free stand. She stands about 11 1/4 inches tall. She has a few freckles on her cheeks, which are not prominent, and brown eyes that are looking forward. She has a pleasant expression and a pretty face, but only slightly resembles Emma Watson. She has ball jointed neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists and hips but no knee or ankle joints.

The Disney Store has an equivalent Disney Film Collection Belle doll. She is in a set with Gaston, which sells for $69.95, so Belle is about $20 more than the Hasbro version. The set was released on January 16, 2017 (in North America). I will compare the two brands side by side soon.

The 3rd Annual Fashion Trashion event at the University of Minnesota, Morris. This event is run by the Studio Art folks, who have students in the intro 3-D studio course create costumes out of recycled, reused, or repurposed materials. This is a always a huge success, with lots of really creative work and a ton of fun for the audience.

Jess Larson is the MC, Jennie Nellis taught the course this year, and the judges are Troy Goodnough (Sustainability Coordinator), Jennifer Deane (History), Jacquie Johnson (Chancellor), Ray Schultz (Theatre), and Hilda Ladner (Multi-ethnic Programs)

in order to renew the "old" glassfacade of the bauhaus in Dessau in 1976 it was decided to tear it down and to dump it in a wasteyard in order to fulfill the plan target of scrap metal... the then installed new windows didn´t survive the end of the last century (sic). luckuly in 2001 there were several old frames - about 120 metres - found in some gardens of Dessau and stored at the bauhaus. with those windows this temporarily bungalow was built in 2015 and it now houses a workshop for different activities

This was the first grocery bag I made. I made a pattern, based on a plastic grocery bag.

We have tons of stuff leftover from when my husband use to sell on ebay.

One of the many things that I asked if I could use was a big box of empty liquor bottles. When I finish them I want to send at least one off to Art Doll Quarterly
