Cases in Pre-hospital and Retrieval Medicine is a supplementary case book with a self directed approach, designed to complement core texts such as Cameron, or Sanders.
The book focuses on the principles of PHC and Retrieval medicine and the continuum of care of the critically injured trauma patient in the field. It is case based and uses real pre-hospital and retrieval situations, presented in question format followed by an extensive discussion highlighting key areas of the specialty. The questions and answers are each 3 – 4 pages in length and most are accompanied by a photo from author archives/real events.
The questions have been divided into those with a predominantly pre-hospital theme and those based around retrieval medicine. A third section covers service development and special situations.

As part of our annual library staff training schedule, I had the opportunity today to tour the Library Depository/Retrieval Facility (LDRF) on the East Campus of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. This massive storage facility houses 400,000+ volumes in long-term storage for the University's libraries, and is accessible on 50' high racks by a "cherry-picker" device. This is a shot from from ground level showing some of my co-workers 42' feet up in the air looking at stored books.
The ABLD tour of the Joe and Rika Mansueto Library. This was a great tour as we got to go down into the Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS). Very Cool! The ABLD 2014 Annual Meeting at the University of Chicago (May 6-8, 2014). The ABLD is the Academic Business Library Directors and the meetings were at the Joseph Regenstein Library Library on the Chicago Campus. These are pictures of the sessions at the Reg Library.
My dog photos today were taken at the Easton (Maryland) Waterfowl Festival. This Black Labrador Retriever was taking part in a retrieval contest.
Costillaje de la pieza que irá en la parte superior del contenedor. La hice con plasticard de 0,5, un poco fina. Debería haberla hecho con una de 0,75 o 1 mm para darle mayor robustez.

HARRISBURG, Pa. - Members of the Pennsylvania National Guard retrieve the Pride of the Susquehanna from the Susquehanna River at City Island (Dauphin County), Nov. 16, 2017. Heavy expanded mobility tactical trucks, or HEMTTs, are used to launch and retrieve the approximately 100-ton boat into and out of the water each year as a mutually beneficial training opportunity. I drew this back in 1979 (long before computer graphics), got the idea after reading an abstract about asteroid retrieval in a NASA publication. I had this book with a cool pic of an eagle and drew this (with obvious influence from Robert McCall). This is a copy of a copy (looking for the original). There was some tracing, literal cut and paste (can see the lines).

Retrieval of Asteroidal Materials [1979]
BRIAN O'LEARY, MICHAEL 1. GAFFEY, DAVID 1. ROSS, and ROBERT SALKELD
Earlier scenarios for mass-driver retrieval of asteroidal materials have been tested and refined after new data were considered on mass-driver performance, favorable delta-V opportunities to Earth-approaching asteroids with gravity assists, designs for mining equipment, opportunities for processing volatiles and free metals at the asteroid, mission scenarios, and parametric studies of the most significant variables. We conclude that the asteroid-retrieval option is competitive with the retrieval of lunar materials for space manufacturing, while a carbonaceous object would provide a
distinctive advantage over the Earth as a source of consumables and raw materials for biomass in space settlements during the 1990's. We recommend immediate studies on asteroid-retrieval mission opportunities, an increased search and followup program, precursor missions, trade-offs with the Moon and Earth as sources of materials, and supporting technology.
KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FLA. While touring the SRB Retrieval Ship Freedom Star, STS-114 Commander Eileen Collins and Mission Specialist Soichi Noguchi point at something on the Banana River. Noguchi is with the Japanese space agency NASDA. The ships routinely are docked at Hangar AF on the river. On their mission, the crew which also includes Pilot James Kelly and Mission Specialist Stephen Robinson will carry the MultiPurpose Logistics Module (MPLM) Raffaello and External Stowage Platform 2 to the International Space Station. The MPLM will contain supplies and equipment. Another goal of the mission is to remove and replace a Control Moment Gyro. Launch date for mission STS-114 is under review. Automated storage and retrieval system now bring you the part, each part is kept on a tray and our computerized software can even help you keep inventory, and a FIFO or LIFO order to usage of the parts. When the trays are stored, they are stored based upon height, and periodic usage. Items with higher usage are kept closer to the access point.
