The ABLD 2014 Annual Meeting at the University of Chicago (May 6-8, 2014). The ABLD is the Academic Business Library Directors and the meetings were at the Joseph Regenstein Library Library on the Chicago Campus. These are pictures of the sessions at the Reg Library.

Cabina casi acabada. Los transparentes creo recordar que los saqué de las antiguas (muy antiguas) cajitas de plástico en el que venía el Tente. A los transparentes los tengo ya protegidos con su mascarilla, pues son muy delicados de limpiar.

El motor inferior trasero está construido con lámina de plástico. El que se ve en la foto es una copia en resina. La pequeña pieza que sostengo con la mano derecha, es su tobera hecha con un trozo de vara de resina a la que le he dado forma con el torno, y para simular su interior le introduje una pieza procedente de un kit de barco a 1/700 (y que se distingue por su color gris).

Construcción del habitáculo de la cabina. La haré de tal forma que pueda encajarla al resto de la nave sin tener que pegarla, y así poder acceder al interior de ella y a las figuras si más adelante tuviera algún problema.

Opening Day at the new space-ageish library that stands adjacent to the Regenstein Library. It's a modern storage and retrieval system and work station that can hold millions of books deep down underground.

Today was probably the last day for most outsiders to get inside as it was open to the "press" until noon today. It's always open to students, alums, faculty and staff but like the Regenstein, it's not a public library. It is spacious and filled with extraordinary light.

Aunque una vez acabado el trabajo se aprecie poco el interior, lo detallo igual que cualquier pieza. Solo falta pintar y colocar los paneles de instrumentos.

Las líneas grabadas en la puerta las hice con un simple cuter. Plancha terminada y lista para pegar en la puerta.

Pegado del soporte de los dos cañones que va situado debajo de la cabina. Tras su correcto ajuste lo compruebo enganchándole los dos cañones pero sin pegarlos. A los otros dos cañones laterales de la cabina los aseguro también con un perno.

Los paneles de instrumentos y asientos totalmente pintados a pincel con esmaltes de la casa Humbrol. No tienen ningún efecto de envejecimiento, pues en las imágenes no se aprecia efecto alguno de desgaste. Las pantallas son calcas retocadas de otros kits.

Detallada construcción de los paneles de instrumentos para el interior de la cabina. Como única referencia tenía que conformarme con las capturas del DVD de la película.

On Monday 8th December, there was some excitement at Nitmiluk as a team of Rangers slung their 3rd gorge/2nd gorge boats and the 2nd gorge croc trap into the first gorge, in preparation for the anticipated river rises associated with the wet season. North Australian Helicopters brought their Bell ‘Jet Ranger’ and a number of their pilots for the job and all went smoothly, except for the second gorge boat which was swum across the last part of the gorge crossover by Rangers James Gorman and Natalie Chester. Due to the humidity and lack of breeze, the helicopter could not obtain enough forward thrust to safely sling the boat across; James and Natalie did not mind the swim though as it was a very warm day. Both boats and trap were then towed to the boat ramp, to be stored away for the wet season. This is just the beginning of the wet season preparations that Nitmiluk rangers will undertake, other works include the removal of handrails to higher ground and the removal and storage of swim/ boat pontoons. All equipment is subsequently checked over and any repairs/maintenance undertaken, ready once again for the dry season in 2015.
