The 21st November would be my sister's birthday, hard to believe she has been gone for 10 years. I am posting this picture in memory of Anne, this was a view she enjoyed. I still miss her every day.

Finding a suitable option for today proved to be a difficult task. So resting is what I’ve come up with. Where will you find rest this Easter Sunday?
Manakara (Madagascar) - Une série sur un quartier de pêcheurs ne saurait être complète sans les poissons. Quand j’ai pris cette photo, l’essentiel du poisson avait déjà été dégagé des filets, notamment les pièces les plus grosses destinées prioritairement aux restaurants. Ne restaient que les espèces les plus petites qui se vendent à la population moins fortunée. Retirer le poisson emprisonné dans les filets, prend une heure environ. Après, il faudra démêler les filets et les replier, éventuellement les réparer. Encore au moins deux heures de travail.
Fish recovery
Manakara (Madagascar) - A series on a fishing district would not be complete without the fish. When I took this photo, most of the fish had already been removed from the fillets, especially the larger pieces intended primarily for restaurants. Only the smallest species remained which are sold to the less fortunate population. Removing the fish trapped in the nets takes about an hour. Afterwards, it will be necessary to untangle the nets and fold them up, possibly repairing them. At least two more hours of work.

It's not that pretty anymore; this pic was taken shortly after I bought it about 12 years ago. It's considerably dirtier now, and the cover isn't as tight.

Ma ecco cosa vorrei.
Per me stesso, vorrei restare sempre in salute, cosa da non dare mai per scontata.
E nella vita, in generale, trovare un nuovo equilibrio nel quale costruire per bene tutto il resto e iniziare un percorso nuovo.
Più semplicemente, non vorrei niente di più di quello che ho, vorrei non perdere nulla.
Ma vorrei tanto che le persone più care attorno a me trovassero sempre la serenità ed un sorriso, anche grazie a me.
Parlando del mondo, vorrei che la Luna fosse vista da tutti per quello che è: un mondo magico che galleggia nel cielo sopra di noi e che ci fa sentire piccoli piccoli e fragili...
e proprio per questo, ci aiuti ad essere più uniti, intenzionati a costruire invece che a distruggere,
concentrati a proteggere il nostro mondo invece che ignorare le sue grida in nome del profitto.
E infine vorrei che per il giovani, i più giovani, fosse un anno di nuova speranza per contare di più, per trovare un loro posto nel presente e con meno paura nei confronti del futuro.
Un futuro in cui si sentiranno protagonisti e non semplici comparse. Un futuro che, mi auguro, sia cominciato alla mezzanotte di oggi.

The Browne Creek Wetlands are adjacent to the Vedder River and offer many kilometres of trails. Rivers and other waterways in this area are diked to prevent flooding, making the connected and almost endless dyke trails excellent for biking, walking, or horse back riding.
This is the first swallow I met this spring. Swallows are back and they are now building their nests with mud and hay. This one is taking a rest, from its work. Notice the beak (its tool for the constructions) covered with mud.
A big thank you to Bill Correll for giving me the coordinates to this place that rests deep within the Beezley Hills of Grant County, Washington. This place is impossible to see from any roads. I thought it was a very neat old house, settled in a very precarious place. What surprised me even more was that it had a nice foundation which would have been a real buggar to get concrete down there to mix. Most places this old are just built right on the dirt. I'm glad I made it out there, even in the snow. It was quite the walk, 2 miles in and 2 miles back out!
This is a bike, usually busy on the streets each day in Panama City, selling something from that large red basket. Daily survival is a challenge.
We get a lot of south-westerly winds in West Cornwall, you can tell that by the way the trees are all bent over. This particular tree looks like it's just had enough and needs to rest for a while. I must say I'm often glad to have a nearby rock to sit on too.
