This mallard couple had travelled under the bridge and were taking a rest against a tree that grows in the middle of the river.
Reading and Northern Budd RDC-3 9166 was built in 1958 for the Boston and Maine and is now used as a refreshment bar car on the R&N's excursions to Jim Thorpe.
It was a great ride aboard these things.
While on my morning walk one morning I saw this pair of mallards resting in a small marshy area alongside the Sacramento River in Redding, California, USA. It was a shady spot with diffuse light coming in at 10AM so I don’t know if they’d been awake very early and were taking a nap or if they’d slept in after a late night.

May be you would want to rest a little before you go inside the Gamle Aker Church, built between 1130 & 1180..or may be you would want to rest a while after you have been inside..
Doogan has been nursing an injury and has been limited to 10 minute walks, yesterday he was busting to run and it took lots of self control not to let him go free, he did get extra minutes walking though.

It's a featherless Sunday again.
Every so often I see these Hoverflies in the garden, following the bees from flower to flower. They do rest at times and even allows me to get near enough for a macro shot. EXP
