In collaboration with Association of Banks in Jordan -جمعية البنوك في الاردن as part of the initiative "Fostering Women's Financial Culture Through Education and Training", the first panel sessions were held, bringing together 17 participants from 9 different banks, as well as 14 entrepreneurs and business owners from 4 major and 10 sub-sectors.
The discussion addressed the obstacles faced by women entrepreneurs in accessing financial services, banking services that are responsive to the needs of social-type, including strategies to enhance accessibility and adoption from commercial banks.
In collaboration with the Association of Banks in Jordan under the "Empowering Women through Financial Inclusion, Leadership, and Education" initiative, the first Focus Group Discussion was concluded. The session brought together 17 participants from 9 different banks and 14 women entrepreneurs and business owners from 4 main sectors and 10 sub-sectors.
The discussion pointed out the barriers women entrepreneurs face to access financial services. Discussed the current gender-responsive financial products and brainstormed strategies to enhance their accessibility and adoption by commercial banks.

To commemorate International Women’s Day, UN Women Bangladesh held a multi-stakeholder consultation on “Gender-Responsive Climate Financing in Bangladesh” on 6 March 2024. Focusing on this year’s theme “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress” the consultation brought together stakeholders government officials, women-right organizations (WROs), non-governmental organizations (NGOs), development partners, and academia to provide recommendations on integrating gender considerations in the climate budget, in the lead up to the upcoming national budget (for the fiscal year 2024-25). The Honorable Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) Mr Saber Hossain Chowdhury was present as the Chief Guest, and MoEFCC Secretary Dr. Farhina Ahmed attended as the Special Guest.

National Stakeholder Consultation Advances Gender-Responsive Climate Action in Bangladesh
UN Women Bangladesh and the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs convened a National Stakeholder Consultation on Gender-Responsive Climate Change Adaptation at UN House, Dhaka. As part of the ongoing EmpPower project supported by UN Women and UNEP, the event brought together government officials, development partners, civil society organizations, private sector actors, and grassroots women leaders to exchange inclusive strategies for climate resilience. Featuring voices from across Bangladesh, including 10 grassroots women leaders, the consultation spotlighted women’s leadership in adaptation efforts and explored innovative financing, institutional capacity-building, and community-driven solutions. The dialogue underscored the central role of women as decision-makers and agents of change in addressing climate challenges, reinforcing the commitment to leave no one behind in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
