Emily did this 4 times today, either to the purring sound or 'hello!'
even if it is just wind, it's cute! grabbed the camera because she did it just before.
Until two weeks ago I was using an A200 with a Minolta AF 50mm f/1.7. I noticed my pictures were kind of soft and had low contrast, so I thought the 10Mp sensor was not providing enough detail. I sold the A200 and got an A77ii. I love how responsive it is.
However, if I use the same 50mm 1.7 I seem to experience AF problems and low contrast. I have micro-adjusted the lens, but still, it seems to be not that good auto focusing.
I have seen pictures taken with the same lens and body combination and they seem quite sharp.
I am not sure if I have a bad copy or is just my technique that needs improvements.
As an example, I shot this picture using Eye AF, the focusing point selected seemed to be correct. However, upon close inspection, it is evident the image is slightly out of focus.
Is this the common AF performance of this lens?
I would like to know your experiences or suggestions, please?
Also, should I see a noticeable improvement in the AF aspect and in the sharpness of my images if I change this f/1.7 for a Minolta 50mm f/1.4?
I really want to produce portraits with very detailed eyes.

Responsive Textiles was created in relation to the idea that clothes are a second skin to the body, and therefore they should be as unique and human as we are. This is why designer and founder, Kristine Rodriguez, personally creates the fabric and structure of every garment by hand. Each piece is a product of labor, love and conceptual thought. As Rodriguez explains, “My priority is exploring a concept and telling its story through the knitted stitch. The garments that result are RESPONSIVE to this goal.” Her line of woven knits for women will be launching the S/S 2015 line on the runway at FWSD.

Polly has nice conformation, very pleasant and willing. Very nice looking blue roan color and thick black mane and tail. This is a versatile mare. She's been in a ranch rodeo, been roped off a little, ranch sorted a little, been trail rode a lot. She walks out nice on the trail, not pokey and she has a smooth trot and canter. She has a nice handle, very responsive, rides off legs or reins. Nice stop and backs easily. Would probably work for an intermediate level rider, but has a big enough motor an experienced rider will like her. Last summer she was leased by a teen for 4H. Showed well in a variety of classes. Polly is bred for ranch, cattle and speed, her pedigree is on allbreedpedigree.com, Leo Hancock Hayes on top, Alamitos Bar on the bottom. DNA tested and current on all health care. Video available.

Cold under palm and fingers
The clay whirls moist on the wheel,
Then soars to form,
Mastered into life
By the potter's pressuring love,
Tender, responsive.
Primordial beauty, softly shining
Reserved, intact, sufficient.
Then robed in magic dust,
It incandesces in the long embrace
Of fiercer, white-hot love,
Emerging a much changed thing,
Deep-crystalled with rock-smooth skin,
Tender in hue, chaste, cool.
Ageless beauty, softly shining
Reserved, intact, sufficient.
--Joseph Grebanier, Feb 23, 1912 – Aug 14, 1976
My father was a high school English teacher. I knew that he had written short stories and plays when he was a young man, but I was surprised to find this poem of his when I was cleaning out my parents’ home last summer. Although he was a highly literate man, I had thought he had left poetry to be my mother’s domain.
He started making pottery when he was about 40, and it rapidly became a passion. No more time for writing stories and plays—spare time was taken up with throwing pots and devising experiments to recreate ancient Chinese stoneware glazes. I think his passion for pottery must have forced this poem out of him.
The picture above illustrates the first half of his poem: the potter with an unfired pot, primordial beauty.
And this shows examples of the ageless beauty resulting from interaction of magic dust and fierce heat.
Dear Dad,
So strange to write those words, since you are gone for so many years now. You are still a presence in my life, though I do not think of you as living in some heavenly place. You did not believe in such things—did not want to believe in such things—thought that much of life’s value came from its transitory nature. Life is short—time to be making the most of it! And you certainly did.
Neither do I believe in life eternal. But who can really know about such things? What I know is that I carry my memories of you with me, that over the years these have been a blessing for me, and that you still live in my heart.
Happy birthday to you, wherever you may be!
Your loving daughter,
Alice
