I love this depiction of a Flying Fifteen (FF) keelboat reaching downwind at speed, because of its minimalism. David has managed to capture, in just a few lines, something of the excitement and adrenalin one feels when sailing in a stiff breeze as the boat rides over its bow wave and accelerates in a cloud of salt spray. The FF was designed by Uffa Fox and is the perfect vessel for local waters – stable but fast and responsive. Our local club, the Craignish Boat Club has several of them.
