A dialogue session on “Gender-Responsive Journalism for Reporting on Gender-based Violence” was organized by UN Women in Cox’s Bazar with the participation of local journalists, change agents, guest from local women’s rights and gender equality organizations and representative from Ministry of Women and Children Affairs. The main objective of the session was to promote media’s engagement in the 16 days of activism campaign and to discuss and raise awareness with local journalists about ways to promote gender-responsive reporting and address Gender-based violence through the media.

Governor meets with Maryland Businesses for Responsive Govenernment by Joe Andrucyk at The Hotel at Arundel Preserve, Arundel Mills, Maryland
UNESCO, with the Center for Mathematics, Science and Technology Education in Africa (CEMASTEA), financial support from the Government of Japan, and in partnership with the Institut de la Francophonie pour l'Education et la Formation (IFEF), the International Center for Girls' and Women's Education in Africa of the African Union (AU/CIEFFA), the Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE) and Microsoft, is organizing a regional training of trainers for representatives from the Ministry of Education and teacher trainers on gender-responsive STEM education in order to engage, inspire and empower more girls and women to undertake STEM studies.
The training adopts a theory-to-practice approach, drawing on UNESCO’s Cracking the Code report, the US Mission to UNESCO’s TeachHer initiative, and other resources and programme experience. The modules explore the situation related to STEM education in Africa, gender-responsive STEM education, gender-responsive pedagogy, gender-responsive teaching resources, and ICT integration in STEM education. The methodologies employ a mixture of interactive pedagogy including guided group activities, role play, group-based problem-solving and field visits, to build on participants’ facilitation skills.
The training of trainers is currently taking place in Nairobi, Kenya (3-14 September 2018). The regional training will take place from 22-26 October with national teams of 6 to 8 people from 12 French-speaking African countries (Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Comores, Chad, Côte d'Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Madagascar, Mali, Niger, and Senegal). Awesomecross was an event that tested the correlation between the performance technology of the new BFGoodrich® g-Force™ Sport COMP-2™ and the amount of fun drivers have behind the wheel. The responsive course reacted to tire performance and driver mood and expressing the connection between the two in real-time.
Each Awesomecross vehicle housed small lights in its wheel wells; the lights glowed red, with varying intensity depending on the g-force that the driver was experiencing. The colors of the lights on the course also displayed g-force in real-time, with varying heights and degrees of red. It created some amazing photographic opportunities and challenges.

San Diego Fashion Week 2014 - SS 15 Collection - Responsive Textiles Collection
Responsive Textiles was created in relation to the idea that clothes are a second skin to the body, and therefore they should be as unique and human as we are. This is why designer and founder, Kristine Rodriguez, personally creates the fabric and structure of every garment by hand. Each piece is a product of labor, love and conceptual thought. As Rodriguez explains, “My priority is exploring a concept and telling its story through the knitted stitch. The garments that result are RESPONSIVE to this goal.” Her line of woven knits for women will be launching the S/S 2015 line on the runway at FWSD.

In 2020, Alfred 23 Harth first came into contact with the young saxophonist Sunjae Lee, a meeting that would mark the beginning of an enduring artistic exchange within the Korean creative music scene. At that moment Sunjae was not only establishing himself as a distinctive instrumental voice but also emerging as one of the most reliable curators of new improvised music in Seoul and beyond. He assumed responsibility for organizing the Korea Jazz Festival that year, which, under the restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic, took place in the form of video sessions recorded at the underground club ghettoalive.
For this digital edition of the festival Sunjae extended an invitation to Harth, who devised a specially conceived video contribution structured in three distinct parts, each conceived as a dialogue with different Korean musicians. The unifying idea behind Harth’s participation was to pay homage to the poet Han Yong-Un, a figure of cultural resistance and spiritual depth whose legacy continues to resonate in Korean modernity. Within this frame Harth sought to emphasize both his own versatility across instruments and the breadth of talent present in Korea’s creative music milieu.
The resulting triptych unfolded in strikingly diverse instrumental constellations. One segment set Harth’s bass clarinet and tenor saxophone against the delicately resonant playing of harpist Yi Kihwa, creating an atmosphere of quiet tension and luminous detail. Another brought together the force of Harth’s contrabass clarinet and trombone with Kang Tae Hwan’s cutting alto saxophone and the expressive voice of Kang Kwon Soon, yielding a dense, ritual-like interplay. The final constellation extended into the realm of electronics, with Harth combining trumpet and the lunch box-instrument Dojirak in sonic counterpoint to Kim Hyo-sook’s Gayageum, thereby blurring lines between tradition, improvisation, and experimental sound treatment.
Through these carefully staged encounters Alfred 23 Harth not only celebrated Korean artistry in its many guises but also placed himself within it as a responsive collaborator. What emerged was less a festival “performance” in the conventional sense than a series of interconnected acts of homage, cross-cultural resonance, and sonic experimentation, shaped both by the unusual conditions of the pandemic and by the curatorially steady hand of Sunjae Lee.
