My last exam at UWS will take place on Monday morning at 8:30AM. As I make the journey to campus alone, I'm going to remember all the people who have helped me along my 6 years of tertiary education, from TAFE to UWS. Then, when I'm in the exam room, I'm going to recall everything that I know and answer every question in a coherent way. Then, on the way home, alone, I'm going to reflect on my total UWS experience. At home, I'm going to take a nap and when I wake up, I'm going to start the rest of my life...

This photo, examines my resolve and conceptualises my success in punching through the forthcoming exam. Stand back - this is going to academically violent.

"My New Years resolution is to resolve not to resolve. To stop seeing myself as a Russian doll with endless better versions inside. To just be." ~Matt Haig (2019's album theme right here folks)

It's funny in the modern age we can take to even quoting a 'simple' tweet. We are not limited to words found in books or film. Scary, but also wonderful. The above words from Matt Haig appeared in my Twitter feed the other day and you already know I'm quite in love with his words. These words really struck a cord with me. Last year, and again this year, I'm walking into the new year setting no defined goals. I have my reading goal and my film goal, but beyond that I have learned I can't stress myself out with more. Inevitably I come to the end of a year, being the pessimist I am, thinking of everything I didn't accomplish, but I want 'to just be'. I want to practice healing and living. When I wrap myself so tightly, an alert form of drowning essentially, in expectation and the demanding list of musts to fill life... I stumble SO MUCH.

My Saturday Solo date was a 4 or 5 mile hike at our local trail. I have no clue how many miles it actually was as the markers were quite confusing. I did learn that while I'm in better shape, I am not in hiking shape. Nor are converse tennis shoes your best idea for great outings such as this one. And perhaps I further cemented my lack of patience with being ill because I decided screw it and walked 4+ miles in the woods. I paid for it in the evening...this upper respiratory thing ISN'T DONE WITH ME YET. It is a huge blessing to find yourself in January, in the woods, experiencing Autumn like weather. What a beautiful and peaceful day! Sorry winter, not sorry.

So resolve with me to live this year and practice more self love. Shutting down the anxious life one day at a time.
