I have a feeling that in these days many people realize what is really important in their lives. Now make a resolve and follow it up!
I found this small slice of shadow to rest beneath on the first real hike of the season. Compared to last year, I am very out of trail shape. I knew that going into it, but I underestimated recovery.
The hike itself was pretty easy and I didn't overdo it. I rested a lot and took it pretty slowly. But also, I did over nine miles over some pretty rough terrain.
It's a whole damn thing, but I've been resting since. I had another hike planned for this weekend, but I'm holding off.
Anyway, there were some really lovely flowers out and I got a few photos of them here and there. You'll see. Also, it was nice to see some actual, mostly native shrub-steppe since so much has been lost to invasive species and farming.

Yesterday, I resolved to leave the office for a little while and get myself to the park I used to visit each day. Here's my reward: a great blue heron flew very close overhead. I think I need to take early afternoon trips to the park more often!
"According to North American Native tradition, the Blue Heron brings messages of self-determination and self-reliance. They represent an ability to progress and evolve. The long thin legs of the heron reflect that an individual doesn't need great massive pillars to remain stable, but must be able to stand on one's own."

Possible source for the original sword in the stone story...the noble knight Galgano Guidotti renounced his warlike calling and wealth and resolved to live the life of poverty and prayer in the wilderness. I has been said that he had no Crucifix for his devotions so he thrust his sword in to the rock as a cross. Windows are an important part of street photography for me. On the one hand, there are the interesting reflections, but also the confusion that sometimes arises and has to be resolved first. I love it. I would be delighted if you would take a look at the pictures in my album. Only if you feel like it, of course :-) Best regards MarioM.
Fenster sind für mich in der Streetphotographie ein wichtiger Bestandteil. Zum einen sind da die interessanten Spiegelungen aber auch Verwirrungen, die es manchmal gibt und die erst einmal aufgelöst werden muss. I liebe es. Es würde mich freuen, wenn du dir die Bilder in meinem Album ansehen würdest. Natürlich nur wenn du Lust hast :-) Liebe Grüsse MarioM.
Here the race for the fish is resolved and the winner prepares for the feast while the loser flies off in search of another meal.
Made a simiplification in the border, with many thanks to the very talented ©arlein, who has a great eye and a wonderful stream, if you don't know it, check it out.
Either would be nice.

Even though the ground crew of the B-Wing sq. never really see any real combat, their resolve to keep their pilots flying knows no boundaries.
Just after sunrise I climbed to the top of the hill near Soda Butte. I could see several bighorn rams sunning along the ridge. The snowy landscape and cold temperatures made a climb, that might otherwise be effortless, seem exhausting. Two other rams, one older and they other notably younger, approached from across a meadow, single file, untroubled, and with steadfast resolve. They stopped several hundred feet away to survey their route. Seeming of one mind, there was little doubt they would continue on together.
I was looking through some old photos tonight for a family project and this one from the La Sal Mountains in Utah jumped out at me so I decided to share it.
This was shot with my ancient Nikon 4500 4 mp point and shoot digicam. The resolving power is nowhere near my Nikon 17-35 2.8 on an SLR for landscapes, so some fine detail isn't there. Still it's fun to use a simple point and shoot to focus more on composition and the artsy details of an image and just work within the tech's limitations.
