The 1B85 15:24 Transpennine Express service from Cleethorpes to Liverpool continues to be operated by a Nova 3 Mark 5 set. After working the service, the set then heads empty to Longsight Depot for servicing, and the set heads east through Huyton station toward there, propelled by Class 68 loco 68022 'Resolution'.

At a distance of about 10,000 light years, this tiny planetary nebula Hen2-104 in Centaurus has an apparent size of just 80" X 40" making its actual size about 6.5 light years in diameter.

Hen2-104 is a Symbiotic star system composed of a Mira type giant and a hot white dwarf star in close proximity. This nebula is known as the Southern Crab Nebula due to its shape resembling the claws and legs of a crab.

Week #2 ~ New Year's Resolutions

I don't normally make New Year's Resolutions but having to take a photo to encapsulate such a concept led me to thinking that I would like to find clarity in life (and photography, of course). Conditions at the Sally Gap today were misty, wet and the opposite of clear.

LOCATION:- Crewe.

DATE 21.09.2018

This shoot was something a little different for me. I'm accustomed to capturing nature scenes and urban decay, but don't have much experience with human subjects. Many thanks to Jacob who joined me on this adventure and proved categorically photogenic.

This image from ESA’s Mars Express shows volcanoes, impact craters, tectonic faults, river channels and a lava sea.

This image comprises data gathered by ESA’s Mars Express using its High Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) on 13 May and 2 June 2021. The colour image was created using data from the nadir channel, the field of view aligned perpendicular to the surface of Mars, and the colour channels of the HRSC. The ground resolution is approximately 17 m/pixel and the images are centred at about 242°E/19°N. North is up.

Resolution photos of Kingfisher

This is titled resolution because it's the first of my 365 project

and also because it's got terrible image resolution

so that's that.

Some stand sharp, some blur away.

Do you believe in New Year's resolutions?

Do you have any?

Care to share? =)

Okay first and foremost.... I'm sad to say that I'm discontinuing the current Chapter of Blossoms Inc. Mainly because I lost interest in what I originally wrote. I wasn't feeling it anymore so I wont continue it for a while.

But no worries, because when I was cleaning out my closet, I found my story journal and I might do one of those. Who knows, but since they were written when I was in High School, they must have some genuine touch to them right? So we'll see what happens.

And lastly my Flickr New Year's Resolution is going to be, that I'm going to upload more pictures this year. Not story wise, but photography wise. I need more pics, and maybe within doing so, I'll learn some new tricks.

Thanks Guys

Jonny

This collection was created especially for nature lovers. We have collected these public domain illustrations from the Biodiversity Heritage Library, a big source of antique nature artwork. Explore this ecosystem of natural creatures for some rare flowers, birds, fish and much more. These vintage paintings are available for you to download for free under the Creative Commons 0 license.

Happy 2010 my dear friends/contacts!! I hope you’ve all had a wonderful New Year. I'm so sorry for not seeing and commenting on your photos as often as I used to. During the past few months I've been very busy, and to be honest I've got a little lazy as well. But one of the greatest things I found in 2009 was Flickr and my Flickr friends. I've got to know so many amazing people through this website, and I’m thankful for every photo view, comment, and favourite I’ve received. So thank you all very much.

For this year, one of my New Year's resolutions is to organise my time so that I can spend more time on Flickr, in order to upload more often and to see/fave/comment more photos.

✂ P.s. If you like, add a note to your buddy icon and write one of your New Year resolutions. I'll tag the name of people who share their resolutions in notes :D

I wish you all the best for 2010!

Resolutions for the New Year?

I resolve to take my analogue photography to an even higher level, aiming for the summit.

Georges de Feure or Georges Joseph Van Sluÿters (1868-1943) was a French painter, theatrical designer and industrial art designer in the Symbolism and Art Nouveau movement. Living a Bohemian lifestyle at Montmartre in Paris, his circle of friends included composers, Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel. Feure was recognized as an important symbolist painter. His pictorial work was inspired by the poems of Charles Baudelaire, with various representations of the femme fatale. He also worked as an illustrator for “Courrier Français” and “Le Figaro Illustré”. We have digitally enhanced some of his artworks, including his poster design for “Les Maîtres de l’affiche” and “Jeanne d’Arc magazine”. They are free to download under the CC0 licence.

Remarkable 16th century botanical calligraphic artwork by two masters of the past: Georg Bocskay (1510–1575), court secretary to Ferdinand I, and Joris Hoefnagel (1542–1601). First created by Georg Bocskay to demonstrated the different styles of calligraphy of the era, the book was later ornamented with intricate fruits, flowers, and insects by Joris Hoefnagel and commissioned by Emperor Rudolph II, Ferdinand’s grandson. This unusual artistic collaboration between scribe and painter disrupted the history of manuscript illumination and gave us one of the most fascinating and beautifully crafted manuscripts of all time. Complement your designs, posters, and wallpapers with these enchanting CC0 illustrations from the past. We have digitally enhanced these spellbound hand-drawn calligraphy into high resolution printable quality. They are free to download under the CC0 license.
