Well, here it is! The birthday boy requested strawberry cake and pink frosting with a clown theme. His mom requested low-to-no sugar and only natural food coloring/flavoring. After trying a few different recipes, I settled on the Cook's Illustrated classic white cake adapted to reduce sugar (replaced with Z-Sweet and palm sugar, left in just a little white sugar to preserve the texture) and include strawberry flavor (I used powdered Just Strawberries, which are freeze-dried strawberries with nothing else added). Frosting is strawberry swiss buttercream, sweetened with agave nectar, palm sugar, and again just a little white sugar for insurance). All the colorings I used were natural (made by India Tree, bought at Sur La Table). The clowns are fondant bodies with plastic heads that I re-painted with royal icing to match the natural colors on the cake.
It was a long and trying experience to decorate with this frosting, but in the end I'm happy with how it turned out. Here's hoping Gray has a happy birthday this year, and many more to come!!
Request made to Carla Medeiros, on her Mercado Livre.
She has some amazing stuff around there and was open for personal request. I love to draw requests for talented artisans!
These clothes were made for one of my dals, Finn.
She took a bit too long to deliver - almost 4 months, but the quality of her work is stunning. I plan on posting some photos when my dolls are done - full wigged and such.

It’s December 2008. Only a few short months before, I had awakened from my long-lasting, first psychosis. I have just received a response to my request for the film academy to allow to graduate. Unfortunately, the current – and next – fourth year courses are fully booked, so there is no place for me (any more). When I was forced to terminate my studies at the Netherlands Film and Television Academy in 2006 (direction – fiction), they had expressed hope I would seek help. I refused for years, convinced that others were responsible for what was happening to me. Now I was receiving treatment from professionals at the Parnassia institute in The Hague, but it seemed like my career as a film-maker was doomed to failure.
Just before Christmas, my psychiatrist Wim Veling makes a proposal. The Parnasia First Pyschosis Centre was going to organise a national study day in May 2009. He suggests I might make a short documentary about having a first psychosis for the study day. I decide to discuss the proposal with my brother Robert, who graduated from the film academy with a degree in production. Why not use my own story for the documentary? The idea for the film ‘Lost Years’ was born. Production company JensenFrisbee was enthusiastic about producing the film.
Wim Veling and my social psychiatric nurse, Gertjan Meewis, were on board with the idea, and in the following months we started looking for funding. With an initial budget of 40,000 euros, that was going to take some time, so we gave up on trying to show the film during the study day. At the same time, I started writing a movie script. The basis for the screenplay was a letter I had sent my parents, telling them what I thought had happened to me in the past years.
In the late summer of 2009, we had only managed to raise half the necessary funds. At the time, we had the support of Stroom Den Haag, the Nuts Ohra Fund and Koningsheide Foundation. Five versions of the screenplay have been written. I want to create an authentic document of how I experienced my psychosis. This proved more difficult than expected. Additionally, the screenplay has grown from twenty to about fifty pages. Then we get some good news. Pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca is willing to finance the other half of the film. AstraZeneca also wants to show the film during the Netherlands Psychiatry Association’s spring conference on 14 April 2010.
Robert and I are happy, but – based on the version of the screenplay we have then – also a little worried. The project has grown from a simple docu-drama into a one-hour movie. We wonder if we shouldn’t look for additional financing first, a realistic option given the script. Shouldn’t we expand the project, turning it into a full-fledged 90 minute movie, and obtain proper funding? Because we are so enthusiastic about the project, we decide to go for it. We attempt to find additional funding, without any luck. I also make a final attempt at graduating from the film academy. Unfortunately, my idea to use the existing movie script and obtained funding to create a thesis film is not embraced by all.
Preproduction starts in late 2009. We have a movie script that is now seventy pages long, a forty thousand euro budget and a deadline on 14 April 2010. It turns into a guerrilla project, dependent on the goodwill of a large number of people. In subsequent months we assemble a fully-fledged crew, willing to work for peanuts, and a cast largely willing to act in return for a 10 euro expense fee.
After eight days of shooting, creating enough material for a 90 minute movie, three weeks of editing, and two and a half weeks of sound design, a 65 minute film is completed in early April 2010. On 14 April, ‘Lost Years’ premiered. From 15 April, it is available to view for free via www.lost-years.com.

Starting in 1676 on request of the Sun King's war minister, the church of Saint-Louis was added as an annex to the complex. Église Saint-Louis is truly one of a kind. When entering this church, visitors say it is unlike any other church in Paris. In contrast to many of the Gothic churches in Paris, the Saint-Louis church is very light and the much of the interior consists of white shining marble.
It was built by Jules Hardouin Mansart after the design by Libéral Bruant, the architect of the Hôtel des Invalides. The church, then known as the pensioners' Choir but later referred to as the Soldiers' church was opened for the soldiers in 1679. They were required to attend the daily mass here.

Anton Church (Vienna)
The Anton Church in Vienna Favoriten
The Anton church is a Saint Anthony of Padua consecrated Roman Catholic parish church at Anton Place in Vienna's 10th district, Favoriten.
History
At the end of the 19th century, there was only one church in Favoriten, the 1876 consecrated parish church of St. John the Evangelist, who was responsible for 100,000 people. Thus, the construction of another church in the district was necessary, which to the request of the then archbishop Josef Anton Gruscha should be consecrated to Saint Anthony of Padua, the namesake of Gruscha. The foundation stone for the church was laid in the presence of emperor Franz Joseph on November 10, 1896. Just six years later, followed the church's consecration in 1902 again in the presence of the archbishop and the emperor. The plans stemmed of the architect Franz Neumann, the execution took over the Court architect Josef Schmalzhofer. The interior design provided the history painter August Wörndle, while the organ was built by Johann M. Kauffmann.
During the Second World War, the Anton church on 6 November and 11 December 1944 was hit hard by bombs. As a result, the dome, the organ loft, parts of the towers and of the nave and the murals were destroyed. Although immediately after the war was begun with reconstruction, it took until 1961 before the restoration was completed. It was headed by architect Anton Steflicek. Due to lack of funds, it was decided at that time to paint the interior plainly white and do without murals. In 1962, the church finally obtained a new organ, by Dreher & Reinisch built as Karl Walter Memorial Organ. It has 52 stops on 3 manuals and pedal. The chancel was redesigned in 1981 and constructed a people's altar. An interior renovation took place in the year 1992.
Appearance
Dome of Anton Church
The Anton church is a monumental and representative construction. It is the largest church of the 10th district. It is located in the midst of Anton Square and is surrounded by a green area. By the streets leading towards Antonplatz, the church by axes of view is yet visible from a further distance.
The church is built in a historicizing Romanesque-Byzantine style. Originally, the architect wanted more orient himself to the St. Mark's Basilica of Venice and create a building with four lower domes and a crossing-cupola. However, the high construction costs forced him to economize, by which only a large crossing-cupola was realized. The external appearance is reminiscent of the great Basilica of Saint Anthony in Padua. The brick building has a very wide, well over 25 meters long facade which is flanked by two campanile like bell towers (each 51 meters high). Dominating is the 48.5-meter-high crossing-cupola in the center of the building, bearing a four-meter-high blessing statue of Christ. Both the choir and transepts have large vestibules.
Above the entrance portal there is in the upper part of the loggias like door building a statue of Saint Anthony of Padua by Heinz Satzinger from the year 1958. Immediately above the door is on a trumeau pillar a figure of Mary of Alois Düll. The mosaics above were donated in 1907 by Favoritner big industrialists. Around the church there are 31 glass mosaic images of saints, who are usually related to Vienna or Austria.
Interior
The spacious interior not last because of the white painting looks bright and simple. The high altar is designed as marble altar ciborium (1961). The only wall paintings are now located in the choir room, where in the apse the mosaic of Christ Pantocrator by Ernst Bauernfeind from 1962 can be seen as well as two large frescoes with scenes from the Old and New Testament of Hanns Alexander Brunner, also 1962. The pulpit on the basket has bronze reliefs of Heinz Satzinger of 1963. Still of the original equipment, the Way of the Cross reliefs of zinc, which were created according to designs of the architect in 1902, have been preserved. Also from the time around 1900 stem two statues of the Madonna with Child and Sacred Heart of Ludwig Schadler. From the former Schmelzer cemetery a Pietà and a statue of St. John Nepomuk were brought here. Other figures represent the Holy Anna teaching Maria to read, the St. Jude Thaddeus, the St. Joseph and St. Theresa of Lisieux. In the right transept is situated the Antonius altar with a statue of the Saint by Ferdinand Stuflesser from the construction period. Here a 6 cm long rib of Saint Anthony is stored, which was brought by Count Eduard Gaston Pöttickh of Pettenegg, the Titular Archbishop of Damietta, from Italy to Vienna. It is the largest Antonius relic in Vienna.
Particular attention deserves the weekday chapel, in which still a wood paneled ceiling with gilded rosettes of 1901 and the images of Saints Francis Xavier, Bonaventure and George, and the Holy Family can be seen. They escaped as the only ones the destructions of the war.

CARPINTERIA, Calif. — Large number of occupants were requested to rapidly clear Montecito on Monday as one more significant California storm took steps to release perilous landslides, five years to the day that a dangerous deluge of mud and stones raced through areas in the St Nick Barbara District territory.
Up to a foot of downpour was supposed to douse the generally soaked slopes there on Monday alone, with the area at high gamble of mud streams in light of late rapidly spreading fires that have made soils and vegetation less steady. The 2018 landslide killed 23 individuals and transformed the typically perfect chateau local area into a war zone.
"We're amidst a progression of huge and strong tempests," Sheriff Bill Brown of St Nick Barbara Region said in a preparation. "At present, we're encountering a tempest that is creating many issues and can possibly lead to significant issues across our province, particularly in the consume scar regions."
At the Best Western In addition to Carpinteria Motel, a few miles southeast of Montecito, a constant flow of individuals clad in downpour gear pulled up in SUVs loaded with baggage and arrangements. Some who had emptied said they were amazed to be among those arranged to leave in light of the fact that their homes were not in consume scars.

The Baron Hill Estate was built in 1618 at the request of Richard Bulkeley. In 1776, architect Samuel Wyatt re-designed the mansion in a Neo-Palladian style. By World War I the Bulkeley family had moved from the mansion and no longer used it as a permanent residence (too expensive). The story goes that in 1939 at the outbreak of World War II the mansion was requisitioned by the government and used as a temporary housing for Polish soldiers. The Polish soldiers found the place too cold and decided to start a "small" fire within the mansion so they would be moved to somewhere better. However the fire destroyed a large part of the interior and the soldiers were moved from the house to tents on the Baron Hill Estate grounds (karma!). The mansion was abandoned afterwards and is now derelict.
