Happy Telegraph Tuesday!
This china button began its life as a plate! Threaded through it is a piece of silk ribbon, which was once a sari. :)
For this week's Looking Close... on Friday group theme, Reusable or Recycled.
In May 2012 a new Event opened their doors to the audience. Now - 5 years later - 22769 is raising their glasses to faMESHed.
To celebrate faMESHed 5th Birthday this May, we have created the Repurposed Barn House.
Inspired by old Barns, we have given this house a modern interior look. The big glass walls on both sides allows you to enjoy the view.

This outfit is probably beyond my repair abilities. Not only have two seams popped the waistband appears to have been 'shattered' where some stain has eaten through the fabric. But I've always wanted a pattern...I think I'll see if I can't make a pattern. :-)
The doll is my Fashion Queen. She needs some paint touch ups, but looks cute in this more modern wig.
At Ogden Point in Victoria. The hull was constructed in 1943; unfortunately, I am not able to trace any of the history. Here, the hull is being converted to a floating spa for our downtown. When it is all finished, I’ll post updates. Local opinions are mixed - some are supportive while others consider it as a “black monstrosity.” I am in the latter camp!
This last winter we decided to remove our old cast iron wood-burning stove and replace it with a stove that burns propane. It was a tough decision, but with me working away during the week and Marg not able to physically cut wood, it made sense. Plus, the propane burns much cleaner than wood, and I won't miss those pesky rats that loved to nest in the woodpile.
It seemed a shame to cart the old stove off to the scrap heap, so Marg decided to incorporate it into the garden. Our long rainy season helped to dress it in a beautiful coat of rust. I think it looks pretty good.

"So I have this Fore Grip that's illegal (in the U.S.) to put on a pistolized Thompson Submachine Gun. Now, three wood screws later, it's a handle for my camera cage. I hate seeing things go to waste...hehe!"
The historic Guffy Railroad Bridge is located at Celebration Park When it was built in 1897, it was the tallest railroad bridge in the nation. It is 70 high and spans 500 feet over the Snake River. The bridge provided railroad transport until 1947 when it was abandoned by the Union Pacific Railroad. After that, the Army Air Corps used it for target practice. Before being demolished, it was purchased by Canyon County and then restored in 1989. It is now used for foot and horse traffic to connect trails on both sides of the river.
Old boats never die they just slowly perish on forgotten shores amongst the shrills of the seabirds.

Penn Central GP30 2208 switches the former Reading yard in Rutherford, Pennsylvania. Within a few years, the yard would be closed as part of Conrail’s operational streamlining, and all Harrisburg-area freight classification was moved to Enola. Eventually, the property would be repurposed, and is now a major NS intermodal facility.
Into my mancave
It was my computer desk.
We no longer need two desks in the office…. Tracey took early retirement yesterday!
I had to take the desk apart to get it downstairs. Easy to put back together again. Just Allan / Hex keys.

CSX SD50-2 #8632 is seen paired up with SD24T4 #1725 on one of Selkirk’s remote controlled pull down jobs. What an abomination that SD24 thing is. And as much as I wish the SD50’s were still running mainline freight out here, it’s good to see this one repurposed instead of scrapped. The #8632 also happens to be the last active SD50 on CSX's roster.

My friend and I went on a photo walk and visited the Mill No. 5 in Lowell, Massachusetts. Built in 1873, the building has been repurposed and has lots of interesting unique, vintage, and retro stores.
We hired bikes for an afternoon and cycled to the South Western corner of the island at La Corbiere, one of the most fortified places on the island. This German observation tower from WWII has since been repurposed as a coastguard tower.

Is it proper to still call this poor vestige of its former self a windmill? At least the base is still serving a purpose.
Tucked quietly away at a customer spur in the small town of Farewell, Tuscola & Saginaw Bay NW2 switcher no. 1977 sits as an end of track anchor for cars at the industry. A far cry from being actively used in switching duty, it has been repurposed. Here, GLC's Cadillac South Turn job passes the dormant switcher with GP35 no. 393 leading the way.
I have seen red box repurposings, many of which have been either as book exchanges, or to house a community defibrillator unit.
This the first that I have seen for a community? planting. It's in the modern shopping district of Bath, Somerset.

P class locomotive P14 has recently received a 'spark' of new life, after being a passenger locomotive with V/Line. After the withdrawal of P class hauled passenger services, five engines from the P class fleet were purchased by SSR, creating a new life on transfer/freight work.

The two gates were my neighbour's that she didn't want any longer, so we took them for vine plants. There isn't much left in the garden, though with the warm weather the Chard is still edible.
C-GHLV, a Boeing 767-33ERBDSF, on approach to runway 06L at Toronto Pearson International Airport in Mississauga, Ontario.
