This outfit is probably beyond my repair abilities. Not only have two seams popped the waistband appears to have been 'shattered' where some stain has eaten through the fabric. But I've always wanted a pattern...I think I'll see if I can't make a pattern. :-)

The doll is my Fashion Queen. She needs some paint touch ups, but looks cute in this more modern wig.

An old school house in rural Wisconsin repurposed into a family home.

This last winter we decided to remove our old cast iron wood-burning stove and replace it with a stove that burns propane. It was a tough decision, but with me working away during the week and Marg not able to physically cut wood, it made sense. Plus, the propane burns much cleaner than wood, and I won't miss those pesky rats that loved to nest in the woodpile.

It seemed a shame to cart the old stove off to the scrap heap, so Marg decided to incorporate it into the garden. Our long rainy season helped to dress it in a beautiful coat of rust. I think it looks pretty good.

"So I have this Fore Grip that's illegal (in the U.S.) to put on a pistolized Thompson Submachine Gun. Now, three wood screws later, it's a handle for my camera cage. I hate seeing things go to waste...hehe!"

I was in Tulsa visiting my family and we went to The Gathering Place over Thanksgiving. The park has a large community room where you can read a book, work on your laptop, visit with friends, or just relax in front of the fireplace. Of course, the room is decorated according to the current holiday, and they really do a nice job during the Christmas season. If you look at the room carefully, you will see that they used a lot of repurposed or natural materials when building. What makes it more amazing to me is that the whole place is free to the public.

The historic Guffy Railroad Bridge is located at Celebration Park When it was built in 1897, it was the tallest railroad bridge in the nation. It is 70 high and spans 500 feet over the Snake River. The bridge provided railroad transport until 1947 when it was abandoned by the Union Pacific Railroad. After that, the Army Air Corps used it for target practice. Before being demolished, it was purchased by Canyon County and then restored in 1989. It is now used for foot and horse traffic to connect trails on both sides of the river.

Any old iron, from the North Queensferry Boatyard.

These steel rail tracks were repurposed to form part of the old railway pier. The pier is in poor condition.

Old boats never die they just slowly perish on forgotten shores amongst the shrills of the seabirds.

CSX SD50-2 #8632 is seen paired up with SD24T4 #1725 on one of Selkirk’s remote controlled pull down jobs. What an abomination that SD24 thing is. And as much as I wish the SD50’s were still running mainline freight out here, it’s good to see this one repurposed instead of scrapped. The #8632 also happens to be the last active SD50 on CSX's roster.

We hired bikes for an afternoon and cycled to the South Western corner of the island at La Corbiere, one of the most fortified places on the island. This German observation tower from WWII has since been repurposed as a coastguard tower.

Excerpt from toronto.ca:

In “Hoarding,” hazard tape—a material typically used to keep people away from spaces under construction—will wrap a series of “bents” that hold up the Gardiner Expressway. The searing neon-yellow of the tape will act as a vibrant beacon that draws audiences toward the work, offering invitation rather than a caution, permission to enter rather than a warning to stay away. Once inside, visitors will experience a unique, immersive space that evokes the warp and weft of fabric on a loom, the walls vibrating in concert with the wind. Just as the tape’s bright colour will highlight the utilitarian overhead space of the expressway, it's flickering, fluttering motion will transform the wind from an invisible, abstract natural force into something highly perceptible. By repurposing an industrial material that often signifies destruction, “Hoarding” will transform a hazard into a creative act, while giving audiences an opportunity to stand inside this transformation.

Tucked quietly away at a customer spur in the small town of Farewell, Tuscola & Saginaw Bay NW2 switcher no. 1977 sits as an end of track anchor for cars at the industry. A far cry from being actively used in switching duty, it has been repurposed. Here, GLC's Cadillac South Turn job passes the dormant switcher with GP35 no. 393 leading the way.

I have seen red box repurposings, many of which have been either as book exchanges, or to house a community defibrillator unit.

This the first that I have seen for a community? planting. It's in the modern shopping district of Bath, Somerset.

The two gates were my neighbour's that she didn't want any longer, so we took them for vine plants. There isn't much left in the garden, though with the warm weather the Chard is still edible.

The freighter was arriving as ACA7250 (Air Canada) from Miami, Florida.

Serial number 30852 began its career as C-GHLV with Air Canada in October 2001. It later served with Air Canada rouge LP from June 2015 until March 2020, when the pandemic forced it into storage. On March 6, 2022 it flew from Toronto to Tel Aviv, Israel via Shannon, Ireland.

After being converted into a freighter by Israel Aerospace Industries Ltd., it was delivered to Toronto from Tel Aviv via Dublin, Ireland on November 30, 2022.

This is a snapshot of this back corner of the dolly studio. My daughter did not want this desk any longer and I snagged it. I like to try to reuse things as much as possible. It worked out okay in the space. As you can see, it has storage for the structures underneath and the shelves can be moved up and down. My studio is a bunch of mismatched furniture which adds to the busy look but I don't mind. I am always moving stuff around.

And now, Hawaii.

I'm working to upload my backlog over the past five-ish years. I've already uploaded most of the images I took with my Oly gear. These are modified or made with the Hipstamatic app on the iPhone. I used this lens and film combination specifically for it's retro/vintage postcard feel which I though was perfect for Hawaii.
