Virginia National Guard Soldiers representing the 229th Brigade Engineer Battalion and the Recruiting and Retention Battalion claim top honors at the 2022 Virginia Army National Guard Best Warrior competition April 3, 2022, at the State Military Reservation in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Spc. Adam Marcus, assigned to Headquarters Company, 229th Brigade Engineer Battalion, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 29th Infantry Division, won Soldier of the Year, while Staff Sgt. Austin Sturtz, assigned to Charlie Company, Virginia Army National Guard Recruiting and Retention Battalion, won Noncommissioned Officer of the Year. The four-day event included Army Warrior Tasks, a written exam, a physical fitness challenge, the Air Assault obstacle course, land navigation, a ruck march, a 3-gun event and an appearance board. Representantes do governo se reuniram nesta quinta-feira (25/11), na Pedreira Santa Rita, com lideranças comunitárias, moradores e vereadores da região do Industrial para visitarem e discutirem o início da elaboração do projeto de revitalização e ocupação do local. Durante a visita foi criada a comissão que irá auxiliar as secretarias de Obras e Serviços Urbanos, do Meio Ambiente, de Esportes e Cultura na construção de um projeto que atende dentro do possível as reivindicações da população.
A prefeita Marília Campos participou da visita e solicitou que a comissão representasse todos os segmentos da região, a fim de acompanhar a elaboração e execução do projeto, cujo foco principal será fortalecer as práticas esportivas, de lazer e religiosas de maneira segura. “Já vamos verificar o que é possível começar a recuperar, até para que a cidade se aproprie do espaço e não seja apenas mais um lugar da região. Vamos recuperando gradualmente, para transformar esse local em um equipamento bonito, seguro e de grande referência para nossa cidade”, afirmou.
O secretário de Obras e Serviços Urbanos, Marcos Túlio de Melo, afirmou que o local é um espaço único e ficou impressionado pela beleza, desconhecida pelos próprios moradores do município. Ele disse que a área tem potencial para ser uma grande referência para a região metropolitana em vários aspectos, ambiental, esportiva e religiosa. “Já visitei a pedreira em outras ocasiões, e não temos na RMBH uma vista mais bonita. Precisamos construir um projeto integrando a comunidade, pois se esse lugar se manteve com o mínimo de cuidado foi graças a ela”, declarou.
A Pedreira Santa Rita é um importante espaço público do município. O local é sede de um dos mais antigos times de futebol amador do município, o Esporte Clube Recanto Azul, além de ser um dos mais importantes espaços no Estado para a prática de escalada, sendo visitado por moradores de outros países, mas que é pouco conhecido pelos moradores do município.
O secretário de Esportes e Lazer, Rubens Macedo, afirmou que o espaço será ideal para a descentralização de políticas públicas de esportes e lazer na cidade e da diversificação das modalidades esportivas ofertadas no município e para dar visibilidade às diversas práticas esportivas do município, amador ou profissional.
A secretária de Meio Ambiente, Maria Thereza Camisão, reiterou as palavras do secretário Marcos Túlio e afirmou que todas as características ambientais serão preservadas e que o lugar será um local onde as pessoas possam viver e celebrar a vida. Segundo a secretária de Cultura, Monique Pacheco, o maior desafio é apresentar Contagem para os moradores, fazendo com que eles possam viver a cidade, conhecendo a cultura produzida no município e, que o espaço da pedreira poderá potencializar as atividades culturais.
Durante o encontro, a moradora da região, Cláudia Márcia dos Reis, destacou a importância da população se juntar ao governo na elaboração do projeto. “Temos que juntar nossas forças, pois onde tem unidade, tem consistência e a certeza que tudo vai dar certo, e vamos ver esse lugar virando um espaço bem aproveitado, que as pessoas venham fazer as orações com mais segurança, que as crianças e adultos possam praticar o esporte e outras atividades que vão trazer benefícios para todos”, ressaltou
Para finalizar, a administradora da Regional Industrial, agradeceu a presença das lideranças comunitárias, dos segmentos religiosos, esportivos, culturais presentes e afirmou que após anos de abandono, a pedreira finalmente terá um projeto de revitalização, ouvindo a população e preservando o vínculo afetivo que todos têm com o local. “Vamos debater de forma democrática com todos e fazer com que a Pedreira Santa Rita seja nossa grande referência no município”, declarou.
Participaram do encontro, o vice-prefeito, Ricardo Faria; os vereadores Vinícius Faria e Pastor Itamar, lideranças comunitárias, membros do Recanto Azul, representantes dos segmentos esportivos, como escalada; padres e pastores da região, além de membros da Regional Industrial.

A través de la Reunión de Representantes, se busca profundizar y ampliar la relevancia de la FAO en los países en el marco de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS – Agenda 2030), y los Objetivos Estratégicos de la FAO. Lo anterior a través de la gestión basada en resultados y analizar, sistematizar y mejorar el impacto que FAO tendrá durante el próximo bienio, asegurar su alineación estratégica en la región, y maximizar su impacto de acuerdo a la visión compartida del nuevo Representante Regional
Generar un mayor impacto durante el próximo bienio a través del análisis crítico de la estrategia de movilización de recursos y fomentar un intercambio de experiencias y recomendaciones para mejorar conocer las posibilidades del Fondo Verde para el Clima. Brindar mayor claridad acerca de las implicaciones de la presencia de la FAO en los países de la región. Profundización en temas técnicos, tanto los de largo plazo como los emergentes con una mirada hacia la mejor preparación a nivel regional y nacional para la Conferencia Regional a realizarse en Bahamas en 2018. Promover el intercambio de buenas prácticas a través de espacios subregionales y bilaterales.

Hibiscus species represent nations: Hibiscus syriacus is the national flower of South Korea, and Hibiscus rosa-sinensis is the national flower of Malaysia. The hibiscus is the national flower of the Republic of Haiti. The red hibiscus is the flower of the Hindu goddess Kali, and appears frequently in depictions of her in the art of Bengal, India, often with the goddess and the flower merging in form. The hibiscus is used as an offering to goddess Kali and Lord Ganesha in Hindu worship.
Hibiscus rosa-sinensis is considered to have a number of medical uses in Chinese herbology.
In the Philippines, the gumamela (local name for hibiscus) is used by children as part of a bubble-making pastime. The flowers and leaves are crushed until the sticky juices come out. Hollow papaya stalks are then dipped into this and used as straws for blowing bubbles.
The red hibiscus flower is traditionally worn by Tahitian women. A single flower, tucked behind the ear, is used to indicate the wearer's availability for marriage.
Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie named her first novel Purple Hibiscus after the delicate flower.
The bark of the hibiscus contains strong bast fibres that can be obtained by letting the stripped bark set in the sea to let the organic material rot away. In Polynesia, these fibers (fau, pūrau) are used for making grass skirts. They have also been known to be used to make wigs.

Hemos solicitado, una vez más, las competencias para intervenir las carreteras estatales y, de manera especial, de la troncal E25, que va desde Buena Fe hasta Babahoyo, en el límite con Jujan (Guayas).
Son peticiones justas y necesarias. ¡Por ello, es importante que estemos todos unidos para lograr vías de calidad y seguridad ciudadana!

Each column represents every one of the more than 140 Almerienses sent to the Mauthausen Nazi German concentration camp during the years after the Spanish Civil War, in the early 1940s. A sculpture in the middle represents the suffering to which gipsies (gitanos), homosexuals, common criminals and dissidents of the Franco regime were exposed during the early days of his dictatorship. The old mineral loading deck known as "El Cable Ingles" can be seen in the background. Every year, local Gipsies reunite in this place to remember their relatives and friends who died in that place.
