My first ever print with the MakerBot Replicator that my school bought! A little bit of curling, but not too terrible :) Especially considering that this was printed within an hour of unboxing!
Replicated in various forms all over town (and Spain), including chocolate at the chocolate museum in Barcelona.
I took this picture at a park near my house of this great long fence. I love the lines in the fence and how the bottom of the fence is on the same plane down the length, but the top varies. The fence is sharp all the way down, utilizing a deep depth of field.

In study design we try to make sure that we replicate our groups, but how can you ever exactly replicate the group dynamics of complicated beasties?
Well, here's a statue that was destined to not sell, well intentioned as it was - the King of Collectors 24 Fatal Fury Special: Mai Shrianui.
The statue is 1/8 scale and it was some exurbanite amount at MSRP, which normally isn't an issue until you take into account the subject matter.
From my understanding, it looks like the company is aiming to let you to display your favourite Fatal Fury characters as they would appear in the game. There are even P1 and P2 colours, but the issue is that they're both still sculpted the same way, so the right hand side character will always been see from their back side..
It would appear that each statue comes with the statue, a pretty typical base, and a backdrop of their state. The backdrop is a rolled up printout with no frame or anything, so I actually wouldn't know how to nicely display htis back drop.
Then there's the actual IP. Not that there's anything wrong with Fatal Fury Special - that was actually my introduction to the series, albeit the SNES version rather than the NEOGEO game. The issue is that the statues are sculpted in the style of the character art of that era.
Now personally, I like some variety in my sculpts, but this is probably the most conservative design and art style (The eyeliner ear). I think design wise, even the Fatal Fury 2 art was more titivating. As such, this alone pretty much doomed this particular statue.
Having said that, this probably makes this Mai statue the safest one to display, no matter how picky the audience is.
With regard to the actual statue, I've never gotten anything from this company before. so I didn't know what to expect. I think sculpt wise, they did a pretty good job in terms of pose and replication of the intended art style, though sadly this means a reduction in assets in comparison to the game model itself. The face is pretty close to the art, though I think they made her jaw a bit too square. Hair is prett well replicated as well, and the overall detailing on the statue is pretty good I wish, however, that they didn't go the decal route for the bow on her wrists.
Paint wise, it's mostly solid, but observable weakness for the Black lining paint apps and anything painted in white. Flesh tone has some weathering and darker patches for the purposes of contrast, but I feel they may have overdone it in spots. Eye decals are niicly done. Paint for the crotch area is pretty rough.
From a Build perspective, no parts or anything to take into consideration. But you can see there are spots where sanding should have been better, and while the braids and other small things would be your first go to, it's actually the arms and to some degree the legs. Now this isn't the most muscular Mai (none are, really) but I can see some lumps on the upper arms that really needed to be smoothed out. Material choices are solid and I don't see this pose causing any leaning issues, though to be fair they shouldn't exist anymore
Australian pelicans looking for a free meal. In Marlo, where the Snowy River meets the sea, there's a jetty that juts out into the river, which is used as a dock by sport fishermen. There's also a fish cleaning station on the jetty, a fact not lost on the local wildlife. While photographing there, I was never without an avian audience...
