Replicating Richard Avedon's Portrait of 'Sandra Bennett'. (See second to last image for final prints and illustration.)
Years ago, a good friend of ours had some beautiful pictures taken with his then fiancé to celebrate his engagement. I may have taken those photos. And... we may have taken copied poses of those photos while we were in St. Augustine.
I'm stupid and crazy at times. But I realized that I spent far too long on carving out all those Rubylith details and in retrospect it might be faster/smarter to just ink the layers. And it's true; I'm not done with the ink layer yet but it took me a few hours of inking versus a day + of work on the carving.
I love ruby, but still I know my limits. The more time I waste slowly carving out details the less time I have to, y'know, print? And since the weather threatens to get superhot real soon, I better hurry. Hoping to print this weekend!
(sadly, this is not the first nor the last time I have restarted something. It does make it better, but I really need to put things to bed sometimes)

I replicated the regalia and outfit worn by the officers of the Ladies of the Oriental Shrine of North America. I used my own Fez as a guideline to replicate the dolls' fez/ The gown is made from fabric of my own gown to replicate the officer's gowns/regalia

Trying to get the right combination of "stick" to hold the tissue paper down, on the right subsurface material, with the right glue, so it holds in place while plastic is deposited but can be removed when completed.

Ethelfleda was the daughter of King Alfred the Great and as a leader of Mercia she repelled the Danes from Leicester in 918AD.
This bronze statuette is a replica of the former Ethelfleda drinking fountain erected on Victoria Park in 1922 and paid for from money left by Edith Gittins (1845 - 1910) who was well know locally for her generous public service.
Erik agreed to model for me. Except for the obvious gender difference, I felt I was able to replicate several features of the original image (see the image posted right before this one).
My muse, Xavier took me to the Vincent Van Gogh exhibit in Second Life. Van Gogh is one of my most favorite artists and his sad, tragic life inspires me to create beautiful things for Second Life on my river rafting lands.
The exhibit SL artists created stained glass reproductions and large rooms replicating Van Gogh's painting so that you can literally walk into the art. Very cool place!
In December 2016, a team of 5 water experts from Cabo Verde travelled to São Tomé and Príncipe for 5 days to meet national representatives from the water sector and exchanges best practices in the field of water management. The initiative was organised by our project in partnership with the Agency for Water and Sanitation of Cabo Verde (ANAS) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment of São Tomé and Príncipe.
The activity resulted in substantive improvement of the Water Act that the government of São Tomé and Príncipe is preparing. Representatives from both countries also discussed how to improve gender balance and mainstreaming in the water sector, taking the development of the “Gender Strategy for Water” in Cabo Verde as a good example to replicate. During the session on gender, the Agency for Water and Sanitation of Cabo Verde also proposed to assign its gender specialist to help develop a “Gender Strategy for Water” for São Tomé and Príncipe .
