Rail Replacement seen at Newton Abbot. The line was closed between Exeter & Plymouth and saw over 77 vehicles from buses to Coaches, allocated to Rail Replacements.
Arvada Concrete Driveway Replacement
Denver Concrete Inc. was hired to tearout this Arvada concrete driveway, the previous driveway was falling and cracking very badly. The homeowner wanted to replace these concrete driveway with the traditional concrete driveway that would outlast the previous. Our crew went to work demolishing the previous driveway which took altogether about one day to complete. In this project we also replace the front sidewalk and front stoop.

The first stages of a complex two-year project which aims to transfer up to 50,000 container freight journeys a year from the UK’s roads to the railway have started. Network Rail, which is delivering the £71m scheme, is carrying out work at almost 50 sites between Southampton and Nuneaton – including several in the Thames Valley area – to enable the larger, modern containers preferred by many global shipping firms to be transported efficiently by train across the whole of Great Britain.
Associated British Ports' (ABP) Port of Southampton is home to the UK's second largest deep-sea container terminal, DP World Southampton. The port is the key entry point for a wide range of food, electronics, petroleum, metals and aggregate products. Currently around 25% of containers which are handled at Southampton are moved by rail. To increase this it will be necessary for the railway to be able to carry the more modern 9' 6" or 'high-cube' containers, which are the most economical method for shipping goods, particularly from the Far East.
Not to be outdone Pam has bought this iPad to replace her underpowered Acer netbook. Mosty all she does is surf the web and send a few emails so this is perfect of her.
I have noticed that she keeps going back to the netbook though, perhaps it will take time for her to familiarise herself with the new toy.
Just a few more bolts (3/8 UNC if you were wondering) to tighten up and the jobs a good 'un. Gearbox oil will be changed very shortly, but at least no more water can get in!
Replacement hammer handle. Somewhat surprised to be able to buy just the handle (why not just the head?). Of the 20+ brands of hammer - only two had non-wooden handles.

Edited with Photoshop, used the Content-Aware fill-tool, and then the Sky Replacement-tool. Some artifacts around the building, but I'm impressed!

Replacement battery for Sigma dp1m / dp2m.
The battery on the left is the replacement that does not work.
The one on the right is the original Sigma battery.
The elevator replacement will take 8-10 weeks, so during that time, we will be using the stairs. This is hard on the older tenants. Already five groups of tenants have moved out.
The mailman says that one apartment building took 6 months to repair their elevator.
The elevator definitely needs work. This vintage Staley elevator, at least 70 years old, often sticks with people in it.
I went to a camera shop today to have aguy look at it. He said its def gotta be sent to Nikon and it'll be gone 4 weeks minimum. Kinda sucks.
Good News: 2 days ago (the same day my camera broke) someone brought in a D70 and he was able to loan it to me FREE. So as long as this one doesnt decide to die (it is alittle temperamental) i'll have it for camping AND Hawaii!
Also in the car i notice this strange case on the strap. I opened it curious and pulled out, A REMOTE SHUTTER!!
i dont have one and really want one so it was a great surprise!!
