A Self-Propelled Modular Transporter (SPMT) lifting the new Royal Ave overpass deck into place in New Westminster.
The Pattullo Bridge replacement will be located just upstream and northeast of the existing bridge. The new bridge will be four lanes wide with walking and cycling lanes, separated from traffic, on both sides. Construction is ongoing and the new bridge is scheduled to open to traffic in 2024.

Working on my replacement torso for the CAM body. It's still too long even though I've cut it down twice. I'm not sure why I can't get the proportions right.... I think it's because I want to make sure it's suitably different from the real CAM torso, but you can only do so much before it doesn't look right with the limbs.
The funny thing is that the boobs are quite large... and I was going "Wow, these are too big." Then I tested it with the head and the head is so big that the boobs looked reasonable.

Buses replaced trains between Liverpool and Warrington over the Christmas period, to allow for resignaling work, with control now transferred to Manchester ROC. Network Rail also took the opportunity to install the bridge and lift shafts at the soon-to-open Warrington West Station.
During this period, Arriva NW managed to provide a service which their colleagues at Northern could only dream of!

CSX AC44CW no.s 3144 and 3133 are seen descending the grade into Ridgefield Park, NJ, passing a pair of prefabricated track panels lying near the Mt Vernon Street grade crossing. The panels were built in preparation for replacement of the grade crossing, which would be shut down in the coming days, per construction signage nearby.

In 1990 BR were short of new dmus and for a time formed some Blackpool to Manchester Victoria trains with a class 31 loco plus mark 2 coaches. Some of these trains were extended round The Oldham loop via Oldham and Rochdale or Vice versa in order to fill in for 'Sprinter' dmus. Here 31449 heads a train for Blackpool at Ladybridge on the outskirts of Bolton. The train will have travelled from Manchester Victoria via the Oldham loop and back through Manchester Victoria.

The construction of a new tram track crossing has necessitated the suspension of tram service to the Piastów and Mistrzejowice loops. Tram lines 9, 21, and 52 will therefore operate on shortened routes to the Bieńczyce loop (Hipokratesa roundabout) from August 9th to 17th, with passengers then using buses.
After this work is completed, another section of Nowa Huta will be closed – Ujastek Street – this time due to the replacement of further turnouts at the Kombinat junction. This closure will last until September 1st.

It was back to Basingstoke today (12/01/2025) for another look at the rail replacement operation with an impressive 13 departures an hour. A bit of a Barnes-fest certainly added brightness to an otherwise grey day.

Former situation:
In the former situation, the moorings were created with seabed piles, anchor chains and mooring buoys. The major disadvantage of this way of mooring is that the moored vessels move back-and-forth in the busy Caland Canal as a result of currents, wind strength and wind direction at the mooring. Additionally, the risk of breaking loose in strong wind is greater than with the fixed mooring facilities, as with the dolphins that are now being used.
Renewal:
Earlier in 2022, the Port of Rotterdam Authority contracted the Dutch engineering & construction company 'VSF' to construct a total of three new moorings as replacement of buoy berths and dolphin configurations in the Caland Canal.
The new moorings are suitable for the trans-shipment of goods from one sea-going vessel to another without having to be moored alongside quays or jetties, and without the oil or other bulk products first having to be taken on land for interim storage, and then transferred to larger or smaller vessels for further distribution.
The installation and the replacement of the buoy berths with steel piles are part of an investment programme on the part of the Port Authority to further modernise, and intensively utilise as much as possible of the existing port area.
Replacing buoys with piles also promotes safety.
The Port Authority is investing a total of some €32 million in installing pole configurations and replacing buoy berths.

A replacement for the iconic James Bond Aston Martin DB5, the DB6 first entered production in 1965 and was built until 1971 when it was killed off by the Aston Martin V8. Very similar to the previous DB5, it is very easy to confuse the two from a distance, but when you're up close and personal the differences are a bit more obvious.
The most prominent difference is that the taillights are flat instead of circular like those on the DB5, and the body has been smoothed for a more aerodynamic finish. Internally however there are many more upgrades to the DB5 of before, with the options of Power Steering, Air Conditioning, and a Standard ZF five-speed manual unit and a BorgWarner or optional three-speed automatic gearbox available at no extra cost.
This particular DB6 is a rarity because it's not in Silver. I've been to many a car show where DB6 owners have painted their cars Silver and attempted to pass their machine's off as DB5's because they couldn't afford a genuine article. But being a car enthusiast, I'm always quick to point out with insufferable amounts of smugness why their car is not the genuine 007 DB5, but instead a simple knock-off, and to that end not a very good one...
