Ickworth Park. With over 1,800 acres of parkland designed by Capability Brown, the house and its grounds were created as an homage to Italy, the country so beloved by Frederick Augustus Hervey, the 4th Earl of Bristol. The Earl-Bishop spent his life travelling the continent, gathering together a vast collection of paintings, sculpture and artefacts. Already possessed of several houses, he conceived Ickworth primarily as a museum for his treasures. At his death only the Rotunda - the giant circular structure at the centre of the two wings, described by Hervey's wife as 'a stupendous moment of Folly' - was nearing completion. The house was eventually finished by his son. Although Hervey's treasures, confiscated during the French invasion of Italy, were destined never to occupy Ickworth, his descendants made it their life's work to rebuild what has become an exceptional collection of art and silver. Paintings housed in the galleries include works by Velázquez, Titian and Poussin, while the collection of 18th-century portraits of the family is exceptionally fine, featuring canvases by Gainsborough, Reynolds, Vigée-Lebrun and Hogarth. In addition to one of the very best British collections of Georgian Huguenot silver, Ickworth is also home to an impressive array of Regency furniture, porcelain, and domestic objects. More made a career of producing idealised Italian landscapes. His Landscape with Classical Figures, Cicero at his Villa, painted in 1780 and funded in 1993, is a typical work, the misty soft-focus and pastel light adding to its appeal. Hugh Douglas Hamilton's The Earl Bishop of Bristol and Derry Seated before the Prospect of Rome shows Hervey seated at what is thought to be the southern tip of the Borghese Gardens.
Ickworth's parklands and gardens can provide a day's activity in their own right. The south gardens are modelled on the formal Italian style, while the gardens to the west of the house are more informal. Visitors can walk or cycle out into the park itself and up to the Fairy Lake. Bright and modern, The West Wing Restaurant overlooks the gardens and can be guaranteed to catch any sunlight on offer. It serves everything from hot meals to snacks, and at weekends the restaurant is open for breakfast. If you're after something rather more formal, try Frederick's restaurant at Ickworth Hotel in the grounds.

I’ve been meaning to replace the wrist joints on my Super Action Jenny body since I really dislike the hinge joints’ aesthetic since theyre clunky as heck but I’ve never been able to find replacement hands for all the years I’ve owned this body since the skin tone was super peachy and such.
I was gonna redonate the 2013 Bratz doll I had but I noticed the skin tone was really peachy as well and the hand was sculpted really similar to the SAJ body as well having the wrist joint being a similar length lol.
So yeah, I cut off the hinged wrists and shoved the Bratz heads into them so now I’m happy with the body…

This is a single replacement reaction with copper replacing silver in solution. The silver forms crystals on the surface of the remaining copper. I've upload a time lapse video of the reaction taken with the canon 7d and using a cheap programmable remote.

The Elbow River in Calgary was crossed by 3 very quaint pedestrian bridges, but they were all destroyed in the 2013 floods. The City has now opened the the first of the replacements, located in Sandy Beach park. The sky was not great, and I'll be revisiting the area in better conditions.

The kids went out and found this. Given the 8 days of over 90 temps I’m amazed that there were any available but the big box stores are getting ready for our tax free weekend in MA, so it was propitious. This is not the make and model they’d gone out in search of but it it’s gotta be better than Mr Leaky.
Bexleyheath based E238 enjoyed a day out on Orpington-Tonbridge rail replacement on Sunday 2.6.24.
It’s seen after arriving in Tonbridge on a well driven all stations journey, a lovely sounding bus although it’s not going to break any speed records.

A gas-powered double-decker will join the UK market in late 2015, Scania has announced.
from www.route-one.net/industry/scania-announces-gas-powered-d...
Speaking at the launch of Reading Buses’ CNG fuelling station, Alan Martin, Manager Special Products – Fleet Sales, says work in conjunction with Alexander Dennis is well underway, with the demonstrator to carry an Enviro400 MMC body.
The gas ‘decker will be powered by the same Euro 6 nine-litre engine already in service in 23 single-deck K270UBs with Stagecoach in Sunderland. Mark Oliver, UK Bus and Coach Fleet Sales General Manager explains that this engine does not require SCR and lacks a variable-geometry turbo, making it less complicated than the diesel unit it has been developed from.
Mr Oliver adds that while there will be a slight penalty in the number of standing passengers which may be carried compared to a diesel double-decker, seating capacity will remain the same. “Operators will be pleasantly surprised by the capacity,” he says, adding that the gas tanks will not be sited within the passenger saloons, although their exact location has not yet been disclosed.
“Our big offering for Euro 6 is gas, in both single- and double-deckers,” says Mr Oliver. “To train an engineer familiar with Scania’s diesel engines to be familiar with gas power units takes just two days.”
Scania will also offer a diesel double-deck chassis at Euro 6, powered by a 250bhp nine-litre engine. This is the same unit which will be used in the Irizar i2 and i3 single-deck buses built on Scania chassis, with Mr Oliver stressing that despite earlier reports suggesting a Cummins unit was to be fitted, Scania’s own nine-litre engine is to be used in both.

This is one of my favorite custom projects to date. The client (awesome and patient) and I went for quite a bit of time, discussing ideas/additions/etc, to help make an "as-accurate-as-possible" Transformers Prime : Ultimate Predaking. Where to begin....This originally started as a Beast Fire Predaking figure (leader class) - It was quite far from accurate. The commissioner supplied me with MANY high-res stills of the character. He/we also worked with some of the best 3D designers to create many replacement and add-on parts.
HEAD : This custom Predaking has a new custom head designed by Incedius, and printed via Shapeways. The face (frosted ultra detail) actually had 2 eye holes which I filled in with clear epoxy to allow the 3mm yellow LED light inside to shine through. The head's 2 large horns connect via ball joints and fold out, then back, then down to fit inside the dragon neck when transformed into alt mode. The new custom head also sits on a new neck/collar shape also designed by Incedius and printed on shapeways. The original neck/collar/neck area was removed to allow for all the new parts.
LEGS / ARMS :Predaking's upper arms and upper legs were shortened a bit. All "hollow" areas as well as some of the Cybertronian tattoos were filled with 2-part epoxy clay, then sanded smooth. his 5mm ports on the forearms were removed. He also has fully articulated hands. Each finger connect to the palm via a ball joint and then has a hinge type joint on the knuckle. These articulated hands were designed also by Incedius (shpws.me/q4NZ) I recommend the "Strong White Flexible" printed material. These hands also have his signature arc shaped designs on the back of the palm and the hands are designed to hold 5mm weapons as well. On the lower legs, I added the blade/fin type shapes (orange) and there are 2 on each leg (one outer, one inner) the outer ones are magnetically attached and need to be swapped to the other leg when in Dragon/Beast mode to fit/Transform properly.
CHEST / BACK : A small embossed "Predacon" symbol was added to the chest. On Predaking's back are 2 "faux" wing attachments which have hingable smaller wings (accurate to the show's CGI) that clip onto the cylindrical shapes on his back (same as the stock wings) these add-on parts also have awesome giant spikes going upwards, making him even more accurate. These were designed by Incedius and were also printed via Shapeways. I believe these are exclusive to this commissioner's project only.
VOICE CHIP and ELECTRONICS : Predaking got one of the coolest upgrade options ever. A voice chip/module custom programmed and built. This module and speaker were all integrated into the chest/torso of Predaking and are discretely hidden. It contains SEVER different voice phrases. It is powered by 4.5 volts of juice, which is a series of coin batteries in one of the AA battery areas. The "push to activate" button is located under the battery unit. The batteries are east to access in case they ever get weak or worn out. In addition, the head's LED and chest LED are sync'd to the voice module, so while he's talking, they light up to accent the audio. I believe this is the (at least my) first custom with a completely custom made sound module! See the video!
Predaking's voice phrases are :
I AM NOT YOUR BOSS! I AM YOUR KING!
PREPARE TO PERISH!
I WILL TEAR YOU APART!
THE TIME HAS COME FOR YOUR EXTINCTION!
GOOD, NOW YOU KNOW WHAT MY FELLOW PREDACONS ENDURED BEFORE YOU MASACRED THEM!
I AM NO BEAST!
I AM PREDAKING!
BEAST MODE : Predaking's beast mode has many add ons. To begin with., his back was retooled and reworked to give better details (which also hide the electronics. The incredible articulated tail has 16 points of articulation, and is super accurate! It was designed by Ariel Lemon and printed via Shapeways. The rugged tail design also includes Ariel Lemon's "extension" This new articulated tail also has a 5mm post on the base, so Predaking can hold it in his new articulated hands! You can find Ariel Lemon's tail on Shapeways here : www.shapeways.com/model/1320083/articulated-predaking-tai...
Predaking's Dragon head and articulated neck were designed by Incedius and (again) printed via Shapeways. The neck has 7 points of articulation. The dragon head has 4 points of articulation as well (2 on the "splitting" jaw and 2 on the mandibles) It's also designed to hold an LED light, which I replaced with a new (brighter) yellow 3mm LED. The wire for this light runs down the neck to the base where an on/off switch controls it. The battery to the Dragon's head LED is easy access in case it needs replacing. You can find Incedius' Articulated Neck and accurate Dragon head here : www.shapeways.com/model/1277613/ultimate-tfp-beast-king-h... (Again, I suggest the white strong flexible material for this print) I took it upon myself to add on some new thin spikes on the top of the dragon's snout as well as 2 sets of longer whisker type parts on the bottom of the jaw.
From tail's end to dragon nose tip, Predaking is about 25" inches in length!!!
Finally, the Dragon wings have had some upgrades as well. I removed all the "webbing" (plastic filler) between some of the wing "bones" and sharpened up all the points. These wings were also given awesome extensions (designed by Incedius) which add a few more inches to each wing and another hinged point of articulation. With these extensions, Predaking's wing span is a whopping TWENTY NINE inches wide!!!
ADDITIONAL : Predaking was also geared up with some nice hand weapons designed by "Customs by Z", these were printed via Shapeways and have ball joints which plug into the existing sockets on the wrists. Also, Predaking wouldn't be complete without a nice light up display base. The base is 10 inches in diameter and approx. 3" tall. It is outfitted with an inner string/loop of red LED lights. It is adapted to be powered through a normal 120v wall outlet. The top of the base is acrylic/plexiglass and has an embossed Predacon symbol which catches the red LED lights on it's edges.
All in all, I loved this project. Originally, I knew nothing about the character, and now that it's done, Predaking is one of my favorite Transformers!

I'm really impressed with the look of the negative. There really is no replacement for Kodak films for absolute quality. Ilford and Fuji are also all around excellent. With all the problems I have had with Efke / Adox, and, to a lesser extent, Foma, I probably won't buy them any more, except for Efke IR 720. Although, Rollei makes a fine IR film as well. I really wanted the Efke / Adox films to work out, because they are old-school emulsions, and are well suited for Zone System controls, but they are too damn unreliable. The skies get splotchy. There are defects in the emulsions. They damage easily when wet. Sure, Kodak is more expensive, but I lose many fewer sheets to failure of the product. With photography, each moment the shutter is fired is unique. Why lose it to bad film? It's a shame that Kodak is slowly abandoning the film market.
Note 5/12/18: Uploaded more intense, sharper version. I will eventually have to rescan the negative, though, because I couldn't keep detail in the lower right corner. That will have to wait, though.

RATP London United Dart DPS716 is seen on Monday 28th December departing the East Car Park at Slough Station, which had been commandeered as a makeshift bus station and temporary bus park. It is about to take up a service to Maidenhead - although trains were operating over this section they were routed over the fast lines and were unable to serve Burnham and Taplow. This service was nominally separate, but in practice was worked as an extension of the Slough-Ealing Broadway service with buses and coaches laying over at Slough for several minutes.
****************************************
On Sunday 27th and Monday 28th December 2015 the railway was completely closed between Slough and London Paddington to allow various Crossrail-related works to take place.
Long-distance services were curtailed at Reading or diverted into London Paddington and London Marylebone, whilst a limited half-hourly shuttle train service was operated between Reading and Slough. A half-hourly rail replacement bus service operated between Slough and Ealing Broadway, using RATP London United Darts, Enviro200s and Optare Versas supplemented by coaches from a number of local operators - the route was single-decked because of the low bridge at Langley Station (this was supplemented by additional 'shorts' between Hayes & Harlington and Ealing Broadway, some of which were double-decked). A half-hourly service was also operated between Slough and Maidenhead to serve Burnham and Taplow, which could not be served by trains. This was nominally a separate service but was worked in practice as an extension of the Slough-Ealing Broadway service with buses pausing at Slough for several minutes.
An alternative service was provided between Slough and Hillingdon Underground non-stop for Metropolitan Line connections to Baker Street; this also ran half-hourly this was operated by First Berkshire using Tridents and a Green Line Volvo.
As well as the dedicated rail replacement buses rail tickets were widely accepted on alternative rail, Underground and bus routes in Slough and West London, and the 81 in particular was carrying good loads between Slough and Hounslow West.
For completeness, on both days Reading Buses and Horseman Coaches also operated rail replacement buses between Maidenhead and Marlow, extended to High Wycombe to connect with Chiltern Railways services to and from London Marylebone.
