PTM Challenge: Repeating
Not my best work, but just felt like playing around a bit. Have a great week.
Repeating last night's theme of one Crabtree Falls photo & one Moon photo - I'm in a rut.
I boosted the saturation in Picnik and added the frosted frame from Big Huge Labs' Framer application.
For an "In a Rut - Archives Posting," I like it.

Camera club play time with repeating flash strobes. Just showing part of the scene - demonstration of Nikon repeating flash for some newer members of the camera club, done in the middle of the woods in Gerrards Cross Common. { The members should have managed to get our model nicely placed between the two trees unlike mine !!! }

After a many year absence from mainline freight duties, SRHC's C501 saw a big return to freight service in late 2020 and througout 2021.
Now back on Standard Gauge grain for the first time since El Zorro, C501 has briefly joined the ranks of Southern Shorthaul Railroad to operate its grain train out of Melbourne. The C is seen coupled to a lengthy lashup of GM22, S311, 4911, CLF3 at Appleton Dock ahead of departure on grain train 9677V to Oaklands. 12/6/21

I think this week finally got me out of my slump. I think I have two solid photos and this is the stronger one. I took this around the golden hour at a street a couple blocks from mine. I knew the light would be cool shining through the trees and create a cool effect and I think it actually really worked out. From there I just set up a camera and timer after setting the focus on my brother. In editing I just played with the colors and sunlight to make myself pop and also messed with the saturation as well. Lastly, I worked with Mr. Mulloy to copy and paste the layers over and over again inside the frame. Together, I think there are seven or eight copies of the original photo pasted in.
This photo perfectly describes my concentration. I am shooting outside the studio in a natural landscape and using color, surreal editing techniques and a prop. It will perfectly fit my other photos. One thing I have noticed is that I have used frames a lot this semester, so this will probably be my last time using one.

I liked the contrast between the soft, billowing cow parsley and the solid walls of Warkworth Castle (even if the verticals are a bit off!)

HYBYCOZO is the collaborative studio of artists Serge Beaulieu and Yelena Filipchuk. Based in Los Angeles, their work consists of larger than life geometric sculptures, often with pattern and texture that draw on inspirations from mathematics, science, and natural phenomena. Typically illuminated, the work celebrates the inherent beauty of form and pattern and represents their ongoing journey in exploring the myriad dimensions of geometry. HYBYCOZO is short for the Hyperspace Bypass Construction Zone, a nod to their favorite novel (The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy) and was the title of their first installation in 2014. They continue to create under this name. In the novel earth was being destroyed to make way for a bypass. It lead Serge and Yelena to ask what it means to make art at a time where the earth’s hospitable time in the universe may be limited.

Pattern making and geometry offer us a means of storytelling and communication. Q: What inspired the concept of LIGHT BLOOM?
A: Just as many cactus and desert plants have evolved to produce night-blooming flowers, adapting to their environment and thriving in darkness, our sculptures come alive after sunset, blossoming with light and transforming the night into a glowing landscape of art and geometry.
