For the Monday Photo Challenges and Thursday Retreads group - a repeat of the challenge "go back and find a different way to present or process a previously posted pic." This was one of the more interesting chess sets I've come across, and its placement on a table with a mirror surface made it even more interesting. I find that wood and metal often come out quite nicely from high dynamic range tone mapping. I set the camera on the table, and bracketed nine exposures at 1 eV steps. While tone mapping, I shifted the white balance to a warmer temperature so as to give the feel of a lazy afternoon - this was actually taken in the morning.
Bracketed from nine shots, processed and tone mapped in Photomatix Pro 3. The mirror surface was real, and is not a Photoshop effect.
