In my little bit of spare time I have been updating the renderings on my website to get them all up to par with my current abilities. Originally designed as an entry for the IDEC (Interior Design Educators Council) 2009 National Competition. The original project was rendered with Kerkythea and modeled in SketchUp, but I have since revisited in Artlantis Studio 2.
The design is for an art gallery in a period Art Deco building in South St. Louis. It strives to find a balance between the antiquity of the original building and the contemporary art which would be displayed there. Thus, the space references historical design elements without strictly replicating them. For instance, the columns are Art Deco in character (and loosely inspired by designs from Eliel Saarinen's Cranbrook Academy) but updated with the bamboo wood and LED lighting. The terrazzo floor and coffered ceiling are also historical references, while the industrial, modular display walls and lighting fixtures are purely modern. Dark navy walls and ceiling were a bold choice to make the confines of the small space recede and to pop the art of the wall surfaces.
Special thanks to Moboille, Hofberger Design, and Hotrod1 from the Google 3D Warehouse for providing the Artwork used in the space. All of the paintings on the back wall are the work of Steven Hofberger and the sculpture is credited to Annette Jalilova. All other objects and props were modeled by me.

From this view, Level 4's occupants are Quality Measurement and Clinical Decision Support, and Medical Affairs
Just west of the main entrance lobby on Level 1, Communications and Public Affairs and St. Joseph's Health Care Foundation look southward onto the healing garden.
Osteoporosis will be located on Level 4 of Zone B
Level 3 of the existing building will be completely renovated to accommodate the Centre for Healthy Living (Pain Management, Vascular Health, Respirology, Allergy, Immunology, Cardiology and Pulmonary Functions) as well as HIV and Infectious Diseases
Sexual Assault Clinic will be located in a newly renovated area where Emergency once was
