The Inter-European Air Forces Academy (IEAFA) flies high as we kicked off our combined officer and enlisted Professional Military Education (PME) course, our second virtual PME course to date!
36 NATO Allies and Partners from 13 countries enhance relationships via remote classrooms, breakout sessions, and interactive experientials. Inter-European PME courses are designed to develop lifelong ties between NATO Allies and Partners.

Bringing together twenty-five students from seven nations, the Inter-European Air Forces Academy (IEAFA) and subject matter experts from USAFE Safety successfully concluded the Inter-European Aviation Safety Program Management course recently in Tallinn, Estonia . The course validated a proof of concept for the United States Air Force's first-ever Virtual Reality Crash Lab, increasing allied/partner interoperability in conducting aircraft mishap investigations. In a first for IEAFA, the course was delivered in a hybrid format, instructing both remote and in-residence students.
Students participated in multiple classroom and “breakout” team sessions all with the aim of developing their individual skills, performing national missions, and developing interoperability with Allies and Partners. IEAFA’s Aviation Safety Program Management course contributes to focused development of a common safety culture and cadre of NATO and Partnership for Peace aviation safety professionals.

Media Communication students the Institute of Technology at Syracuse Central High School worked this fall to tell stories about their lives during the pandemic using photography.
Students’ photographic stories expressed a range of subjects including: commentary on wearing masks, social distancing, remote learning, racism, mental health and what it’s like to be a teenager from Syracuse in today’s America.
This project was inspired by Bousquet Holstein’s 12th Annual Photography Contest and The Stand’s 2020 re-imagined Photo Walk — both which aimed to convey similar themes of our “new normal.”
