You are looking at the business-end of the Canon RC-5 IR remote which requires a 2-second wait after you push the button until it trips the shutter. What a slo-mo pain! Fortunately there are better options!

I use an Einstein 640 strobe with a 22" beauty dish & diffusion sock mounted on an Elinchrom Handheld Boom Arm. I typically fire my camera off with a wireless trigger, and that in turn fires my CyberSyncâ„¢ Trigger Transmitter on my Nikon D800 to fire off my strobe via a CyberSyncâ„¢ Transceiver. I end up taking several exposures, both high and low, while walking around the vehicle. I'll layer the images in Photoshop and switch each layer to the 'lighten' blend mode. I have been using layer masks to remove some highlight details from the strobe reflection, but I don't always find it works all the time. 1970 Plymouth Duster, 2016 Mountain Thunder Car Show in Old Fort, North Carolina. I shot the car in full daylight with about 5 stops of ND filtration and had the flash power at maximum.

Stopped by the remote controlled airfield for short time for the first time in quite a while. A friend of mine was flying a few of the 31 planes he owns. Only got photos of 2 of them while there, the first two red ones and the last six photos here. Fun watching how skillful these pilots are doing aerial maneuvers, takeoffs and landings. I always send any photos I take for them to post on their club site. Sorry for so many photos, just saving to my album. :-)
A good friend of mine (thanks Richie Rich!!) found a complete but long dead dragonfly while ripping out a Vodafone shop in Salisbury last week and knowing my interest in macro photography kept it for me......this is the first chance I've had to finally have a play......so this is a tiny part of a wing..... I placed the dragonfly on a sheet of green tissue paper...which in turn was placed on top of the Makita LED torch, Olloclip macro @ 21x, tripod, remote, zoomed in on iPhone by 20%, then cropped (30%), healed, and subsequently battered......all in Snapseed on iPad Pro with Apple Pencil.
When you look closely at the image (esp. middle right) it's possible to see claw like protuberances, these are situated near the wing tip. I have no idea what purpose they serve (but my guess would be structural reinforcement?) but they are included in this article below (see small B&W photo marked (g)) :-

There's a place in the remote Arizona desert where one of the most amazing and unique rock formations sits in a world of filled with sand... in one corner of this outerworld land there is a single tree that stands guard over desertscape.
This started out as a prototype for a BB8 droid, but I thought it was interesting enough to stand on its own.
It's a remote control, steerable, monowheel. It has some control issues (don't we all) but it's still pretty fun to play with.

Lagangarbh Cottage (lagan garve) sits in a very remote area just beneath the towering Buchaille Etive Mor in Glencoe, the awful weather here today didn't allow me to get many shots at all, but I wanted to shoot this cottage, I though that the weather despite being awful actually adds a lot to the dramatic scene here so I had to shoot this one from inside the car with the window down to protect the camera and offer some shelter as it was still pouring down outside, water on the lens from an outdoor position would have quite likely ruined the image.

Remote region of the Paria Plateau; swirling, multicolored formations of Navajo sandstone, including domes, hoodoos, gullies and potholes. Reached by a long drive on unpaved roads, some requiring a high clearance 4WD vehicle . Like Coyote Buttes, some formations at the White Pockets are delicate and could be damaged if subject to a large number of hikers, but there is no permit system and visitation is unlimited; it is however naturally restricted due to the difficulty of access. The main approach to the Paria Plateau is along House Rock Valley Road to the west .

The Mahajah Arch, also known as Jabal Mahjah, is a remote sandstone formation in the Tabuk region of Saudi Arabia. Wind and rain have sculpted magnificent arches rising nearly 40 meters high, while ancient carvings of camels, horses, and geometric patterns mark the lower rocks — silent traces of those who once passed through this desert. It is a dream destination for photographers.
It was early afternoon when we set out toward the Arch. Even with three SUVs, the journey across the desert proved far more challenging than we had expected. On the way, two of our three vehicles became stuck in the deep sand. We tried everything — digging, pushing, adjusting the tires — but every attempt only caused the cars to sink deeper. Endless desert surrounded us. No signal. No help in sight. As the sun began to lower, desperation quietly crept in.
Then, as if sent by fate, a group of local Saudi people appeared. They were driving back after visiting the Mahajah Arch themselves. The moment they saw our situation, they stopped and immediately began helping us. They worked tirelessly, digging and pushing alongside us. But the sand had swallowed our vehicles too deeply, and their first attempts were unsuccessful.
While working, they learned that we were photographers hoping to capture the Arch before sunset. Without a second thought, three members of their group offered to drive us to the Arch so we could catch the last golden light, while the others stayed behind to continue rescuing our cars. Their generosity left us speechless and deeply moved.
As the sun dipped toward the horizon, we finally stood before the magnificent Arch, capturing the images we had dreamed of — knowing that strangers were working in the sand for us.
After sunset, once our cars were finally freed, the group escorted us all the way to the highway intersection to ensure we were safely on our way home. It was already 10 p.m. Before parting, four members of their group began dancing and singing in the desert night, filling the air with joy and laughter. Under the vast sky, surrounded by sand and stars, their happiness was contagious.
We struggled to hold back tears, unable to find words strong enough to express our gratitude and respect. What began as a moment of fear and helplessness became a powerful reminder of human kindness.
It was more than a photography trip. It was an unforgettable experience at the Mahajah Arch — one that we will carry in our hearts forever.
I didn't get out for Sunrise this morning (due to Hangover!!) so headed out for a shot or two this afternoon very windy do decided on some Long Exposures to catch some nice cloud movement! only when setting up realised i'd forgot my remote release! so self timer & a 30 second exposure maximum!!
