Remote Memories is an installation by the Swiss artist Yannick Jacquet. It was presented with a music by Before Tigers (from Belgium) at Stereolux during the electronic cultures festival Scopitone in Nantes, France.

I love the fact that there are these relatively remote, isolated 'Islands' of cold and snow, right here in warm, sunny, Southern California. A simple day outing drive to the mountains and you are in the freezing cold and snow. But down in the valleys and along the coast, you NEVER see snow.

She departs her Bellingham homeport for a variety of public and private charters, as well as day and evening sails from spring through fall, exploring the pristine anchorages of the San Juan Islands and Canadian Gulf Islands.

Mahurangi Regional Park.
The sheltered bays, native bush, open pasture and historic sites of Mahurangi Regional Park straddle the entrance to the beautiful Mahurangi Harbour, which gives the park its name. The park is divided into three "fingers" - Mahurangi West, Scott point and Mahurangi East. Mahurangi West provides a backdrop to three pohutukawa-fringed bays - Sullivan's (Otarawao) Bay, Mita (Otuawao) Bay and Te Muri Bay.
Scott Point includes the historic Scott Homestead, while the remote Mahurangi East is only accessible by sea.

This is a Joint Navy and Coast Guard Patrol Boat - Prototype - Built by Gladding and Hearn. It is Jet Drive and it has a Gyro Stabilized Remote controlled 50 Caliber Machine Gun that can be fired on target at full speed in a chop, day or night and in fog or inclement weather.

…nothing new for us sfs cats. Found a look out slash hill overlooking the city, ya it’s late and my English ain’t so good sorry- wanted to time it for the sunset but we were way early, played around with killing the ambient down to nothing, I was pretty surprised that I could at only 1/250th (canon blah).
Put another flash in the umbrella bracket and both on full power made itself be known haha. Ammi was so patient as I fumbled with the ratio’s, even through my stoke at the control I have over the world’s source I still called out fake, it just looked way agro with the ambient being so low and made me sick…just sat around and talked about nothing for an hour until we could get around to doing something.

I spent a night with my friend Sparky who invited me to attend his visit to a local hobby club. It was a fun couple of hours of photo enjoyment for me.
My wife and son like to collect rocks, so when we were in South Dakota we headed over to Fairburn so they could look for some agates.
This is in a small town that we had to pass though to get to the agate fields. This might even be the town of Fairburn, but I am not positive without double checking on a map.

A beautiful, remote and culturally rich country infamous for its military regime, Myanmar (Burma) has in recent years been making small steps towards democracy, with the first democratically elected government in 2015, after more than half a century.
Modern conveniences, such as mobile-phone coverage and internet access, are now common, however for all the recent changes, Myanmar remains at heart a rural nation of traditional values - though one may have hard time to find someone among the younger generation without a smartphone or Facebook profile.
One will still encounter men wearing the sarong-like longyi and chewing betel nut, spitting the blood-red juice onto the ground, women with faces smothered in thanakha (a natural sunblock), and cheroot-smoking grannies. Trishaws still ply city streets, while the horse or bullock and cart is common rural transport.

We carefully planned our 3-weeks long Burmese adventure around 6-days long hiking trip in the remote Chin state, where we commenced our journey in the hilltop settlement of Mindat, and subsequently hiked for four days across ethnic minority villages using old footpaths and mule trails.
Besides that, Bagan was the obvious spot to spend a few days exploring its temples, and we also spent a few days more in the south around Hpa-An. Then, finally, Ngapali was the ultimate destination for our beach leisure time.

Brendan loves making silly faces! This story photo was taken during the filming of an object converation written by Rafael at Streamwood High School. He wrote a dialouge between a TV and a remote control. We created this cool effect using an old hollowed out TV.
Having checked out a suspicious vehicle and package via a remote control EOD robot, SGT Terry James from 3 CER and attached to the ANZAC Battle Group, further investigates during a Counter-IED tasking in Nurgal at Cooperative Spirit 08.

Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) experts and assets from 15 Combat Engineer Troop (15 CE Tp), 3 Combat Engineer Regiment (3 CER) have been attached to the ANZAC Battle Group as part of Cooperative Spirit 08. Responsible for Counter-IED (Improvised Explosive Device) tasks throughout the ANZAC Battle Group Area of Operations, they have been called into the town of Nurgal to render safe a suspicious package and vehicle. Local residents want their community to be free from the threat posed by IEDs, which indiscriminately endangers the safety of their people and have requested ANZAC Battle Group assistance. Local residents have been moved to safe distance and infantry soldiers have set up a cordon while EOD experts and assets conduct the delicate task to remove the threat posed to the townspeople.

Approximately 180 personnel drawn mostly from the 1st Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment (1 RAR) in Townsville have deployed to Germany on Cooperative Spirit 2008 (CS08). CS08 is a multinational exercise intended to test interoperability among the American, British, Canadian, Australian and New Zealand Armies (ABCA).
The 1 RAR contingent comprises of a Battle Group HQ and Combat Team Force Element and will be combined with a company from the 2nd/1st Battalion Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment (2/1 RNZIR) to create the ‘ANZAC Battle Group’ during the exercise. They will conduct operations in the field, under stressful battlefield conditions, complete with a sophisticated opposing force and realistic training scenarios in a world-class training facility.
CS08 is being conducted by the United States at the Joint Multinational Readiness Centre (JMRC), located in Hohenfels, Germany, between 11 Sep and 10 Oct 08. Around 1800 troops from ABCA Armies are taking part in the activity. The month-long exercise aims to develop skills common to ABCA armies and increase interoperability for combined operations, offering significant opportunities to train soldiers in a combined (multinational) environment.
