Izzy and Chris were our first cats. Unfortunately, both of them dissapeared after a few years, Chris first and then Izzy. They were inside-outside cats. We looked for them intensly, but could not find them. We hoped they found other homes (although they were very happy in ours) than becoming prey to some predators around (coyotes, bobcat, dogs).
Try to remember the kind of September
When life was slow and oh, so mellow.
Try to remember the kind of September
When grass was green and grain was yellow.
Try to remember the kind of September
When you were a tender and callow fellow.
Try to remember, and if you remember,
Then follow.

...Dreams Come True
I felt this was an appropriate upload for Disneyland's birthday.
My first successful Disneyland fireworks shot! It involved some trial and error, mostly to do with underestimating the size of the bursts and forgetting my ND filter, but I think I managed to capture the intro to the Star Tours segment fairly well.
Due to a misreading in our planning and some unlucky weather we missed seeing this show on our April trip last year, which really bummed me out because I'd heard great things. So when we decided to visit again this April I made sure we had as many opportunities to see the show so we wouldn't miss it.
Honestly, I was pretty blown away by it. I didn't realise quite how immersive the show was by incorporating the 360 fireworks and other elements, as none of the YouTube videos I'd watched of the show captured these elements. It was well worth the year wait!

Euromaidan (Ukrainian: ??????????, Yevromaidan, literally "Eurosquare") is a wave of demonstrations and civil unrest in Ukraine, which began on the night of 21 November 2013 with public protests demanding closer European integration and culminated in a coup d'etat of the reigning Ukrainian government. The scope of the protests expanded, with many calls for the resignation of President Viktor Yanukovych and his government. Many protesters joined because of the violent dispersal of protesters on 30 November and "a will to change life in Ukraine". By 25 January 2014, the protests had been fueled by the perception of "widespread government corruption", "abuse of power", and "violation of human rights in Ukraine".
The demonstrations began on the night of 21 November 2013, when protests erupted in the capital, Kiev, after the Ukrainian government suspended preparations for signing an Association Agreement and a Free Trade Agreement with the European Union, in order to seek closer economic relations with Russia. Prime Minister Mykola Azarov had asked for 20 Billion Euros (US$27) billion in loans and aid. The EU and Russia both offered Ukraine the possibility of substantial loans. Russia also offered Ukraine cheaper gas prices. On 24 November 2013, first clashes between protesters and police began. Protesters strived to break cordon. Police used tear gas and batons, protesters also used tear gas and some fire crackers (according to the police, protesters were the first to use them). After a few days of demonstrations an increasing number of university students joined the protests. The Euromaidan has been repeatedly characterised as an event of major political symbolism for the European Union itself, particularly as
"the largest ever pro-European rally in history".
The protests are ongoing despite heavy police presence, regularly sub-freezing temperatures, and snow. Escalating violence from government forces in the early morning of 30 November caused the level of protests to rise, with 400,000–800,000 protesters demonstrating in Kiev on the weekends of 1 December and 8 December. In the weeks since, protest attendance has fluctuated from 50,000 to 200,000 during organised rallies. Violent riots took place 1 December and 19 January through 25 in response to police brutality and government repression. Since 23 January several Western Ukrainian Oblast (province) Governor buildings and regional councils have been occupied in a revolt by Euromaidan activists. In the Russophone cities of Zaporizhzhya, Sumy, and Dnipropetrovsk, protesters also tried to take over their local government building, and have been met with considerable force from both police and government supporters.
According to journalist Lecia Bushak writing in the 18 February 2014 issue of Newsweek magazine, EuroMaidan has grown into something far bigger than just an angry response to the fallen-through EU deal. It's now about ousting Yanukovych and his corrupt government; guiding Ukraine away from its 200-year-long, deeply intertwined and painful relationship with Russia; and standing up for basic human rights to protest, speak and think freely and to act peacefully without the threat of punishment.
A turning point came in late-February, when enough members of the president's party fled or defected to lose their majority in the parliament leaving the opposition large enough to form the necessary quorum. This allowed parliament to pass a series of laws that removed police from Kiev, canceled anti-protest operations, restored the 2004 constitution, freed political detainees, and allegedly impeached the president. Yanukovych then fled to Ukraine's second largest city of Kharkiv, refusing to recognise the parliament's decisions. The parliament has assigned early elections for May 2014.

I’ve been to a lot of concerts in my life, from The Rolling Stones to U2 to The Police, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and James Taylor. This was probably one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. The musicians were true professionals and played flawlessly. I would highly recommend catching a Brit Floyd show next time it comes to a town near you.

This is an fHDR image from a single RAW exposure. I wanted to capture the beautiful sky but still properly exposure their faces. Tone mapping seemed like a good solution. To do this in Photomatix just drag and drop your RAW file onto the main Photomatix window and the program will automatically begin the conversion process and take you to the tonemapping window where you can choose your settings.

When all our tears have reached the sea
Part of you will live in me
Way down deep inside my heart
The days keep coming without fail
A new wind is gonna find your sail
That’s where your journey starts
You’ll find better love
Strong as it ever was
Deep as the river runs
Warm as the morning sun
Please remember me
Just like the waves down by the shore
We’re gonna keep on coming back for more
’cause we don’t ever wanna stop
Out in this brave new world you seek
Oh the valleys and the peaks
And I can see you on the top
You’ll find better love
Strong as it ever was
Deep as the river runs
Warm as the morning sun
Please remember me
Remember me when you’re out walkin’
When the snow falls high outside your door
Late at night when you’re not sleepin’
And moonlight falls across your floor
When I can’t hurt you anymore
You’ll find better love
Strong as it ever was
Deep as the river runs
Warm as the morning sun

Do you remember summer? I do… although it doesn’t look anything like those warm, rolling, flower-perfumed and sunny days right now. So what do we do? We grab a bunch of summer photos and turn them around, beautify them and presto we’ve got another SUMMER DAY….
In the box hereunder you can see the original – and I confess having used the ‘water’ overlay from PicMonkey plus one of my photos for another overlay – but I can’t remember what it was…
Wishing you a PEACEful and HAPPY day.

On this last day of APA month, I would like to take a moment to acknowledge the influence of my paternal non-blood related Aunt on my fashion sense.
She was the fashion diva of our extended family. She was always well dressed in classic suits, stiletto long point heels and wearing make-up when I saw her at family gatherings.
I hate to say that my mother had the fashion sense of a country mouse. The shoes that she had were blocky 2" pumps.
One day when i was about 10, I was visiting my Aunt and I was left to amuse myself in the rec room, where I found a pair of 3" stiletto black patent long points. My eyes widened, and my heart raced as my hands caressed those shoes while I thought of all the sexy beautiful ladies I had seen wearing such shoes, but I didn't dare try them on ... sigh. Only in dreams.
It wouldn't be until some 20 years later when I owned my own house that I bought my first pair of stiletto long points. It was probably mail ordered from Frederick's of Hollywood.
I think that I favor my Aunt's looks even though we were not blood related especially in this photo: from the right side.
ps - Sorry Lila Brooks . I had no other photos of this red cheongsam that revealed any leg.... out of fifty, only this one did,
In hindsight: What IF my Aunt had caught me trying on her sexy stiletto LPs? Would she have been surprised or would she have arranged dress-up playdates to turn me into her "niece"? Perhaps she was already doing that with her son/"daughter' and she wanted her to have a sister? Why else would a pair of sexy stilettos be found in the rec room toy chest where they could easily be found? That little mystery has always bothered me. Perhaps fantasies of Forced Transformations existed in Asian cultures too? BTW, her son was not at home that day.
