It was a really rainy day yesterday but the clouds parted briefly just as I got back home from work so I stopped by my new photo spot to capture the setting sun, the clouds, and the skyline. This is less than a block from my house. 7 shots handheld.

IJburg is a residential neighbourhood in the east of Amsterdam, Netherlands. It is situated in the IJ Lake and is being built on artificial islands which have been raised from the lake.
Walking down the bustling streets of the business district of Honolulu I mostly turn left to right trying to see something interesting to take a photo of. This time I decided to look up and admire how tall the buildings are. Here is a capture of one of the tallest buildings on Oahu.
*Why is this photo named Pork and Beans...well as I was taking this photo I remembered listening to Weezers "Pork and Beans" on my iPod xP

The Adelaide Botanic Gardens on a walk around Adelaide September 7, 2013 South Australia. It was our last few hours in Adelaide for leaving for Melbourne.
The Adelaide Botanic Garden is a 125-acre (51 ha) public garden at the north-east corner of the Adelaide city centre, in the Adelaide Park Lands. It encompasses a fenced garden on North Terrace (between the Royal Adelaide Hospital and the National Wine Centre) and behind it the Botanic Park (adjacent to the Adelaide Zoo). The Adelaide Botanic Garden, together with the Wittunga and the Mt Lofty Botanic Gardens, comprise the three Botanic Gardens of Adelaide.
From the first official survey carried out for the map of Adelaide - Colonel William Light intended for the planned city to have a 'botanical garden'. To this end : he designated a naturally occurring Ait of land that had formed in the course of the River Torrens. However, it wasn't until 1854, after a public appeal to Governor Sir Henry Young that gardens were established at the current location. They were founded the following year and officially opened in 1857. The garden's design was influenced by the Royal Gardens at Kew, England and Versailles, France.
One of the garden's nineteenth-century directors was the botanist Dr Richard Moritz Schomburgk, brother to the German naturalist Robert Hermann Schomburgk. He was a major advocate for the establishment of forest reserves in the increasingly denuded South Australian countryside. Dr Schomburgk's successor, Dr M. W. Holtze I.S.O., did much to make the gardens more attractive to the general public.
Amongst other scientific and educational displays of native and international horticulture, the gardens hold one of the earliest propagated specimens of the Wollemi Pine tree, which was discovered as recently as 1994.

I had a tougher crop as well, but i sort of like this framing with the empty space in front... Not sure what you would think of it:-)
I went out for the sunset and it was no where to be found due to the clouds. I got lucky with the amazing blues from the clouds. I used my wife's D50 since my camera is in the shop still. Neutral Density Filter, 20 second Long Exposure. Pacific Beach, CA.
I was surprised by how well I could see the Milky Way with all the light pollution around - the street lights near the park, and the bright rising moon. It's always fun to watch the moon rise past the horizon and slowly make it's way into the sky.
The buiding with the green roof is Skutebrygga in Drammen, Norway. On the banks of the town's river and a stones throw from the town centre it is a popular place in summer despite the prices. A pint for around £7 !!!
I've had my first UWA (the Canon 10-22) for over a month, but am FINALLY getting a chance to really use it (long story... Sigma repair... UGH!!!). This was also my first time out with my new T4i. And so far, I am quite impressed with both the camera and the lens. It's also great to get a feel for them, with my Disney Cruise coming up in 2 weeks!!!! ;)
As for this shot, I just happened to see the monorail approaching as I was walking past. Since this was the only angle I could even shoot the monorail, I tried to make the most of it. Needless to say, it was a nice surprise in realizing Spaceship Earth was nicely in the frame.

First got up to shoot the moon at a different location but it didn't work out. So quickly worked out that it would be viewable from this location. Took a shot with a fishing boat first and then this shot before it disappeared below the mountain range.
These photos arent the best but I though some of you might enjoy them. Not very happy with the simga lens I was forced to use.
Shot in Acadia National Park.
Gorgeous weather, lovely light.

... cal asssegurar-se que el que es va a dir és més bonic que el silenci.
Antes de hablar ... hay que asegurarse de que lo que se va a decir es más bello que el silencio.
Before speaking ... make sure that what is going to say is more beautiful than silence.

I've been meaning to get to the lake for a few weeks now to capture one of the great sunsets we've been having lately.
I've been seeing a lot of pier sunset pictures so I thought I would get out on the ice shelf for something different.
I'm sure it would have been better 10 minutes later, but I was freezing my %$^&^ off!
