"People have to talk about something just to keep their voice boxes in working order so they'll have good voice boxes in case there's ever anything really meaningful to say."

Mental health experts say that our interpersonal relationships can increase our stress level. Since it is not possible nor advisable to eliminate these relationships from our lives, we have to work hard to ensure that our relationships do not get the better of us. www.isitnormal.net/relationship-might-causing-stress/

You are what you eat, right? The same rules that work with food also apply to relationships. What you put in is what you get out. Your happiness in a relationship depends on the choices you make.

Neha Choksi sets up simple yet memorable situations to create poetic, absurd and psychologically engaging works. Her new multi-channel film installation features the artist and her friends. Exploring the relationship between herself and her community

Our personal and cultural relationships to food help shape what and how we eat, and our food-based traditions sustain a sense of community and shared heritage. Yet the way we eat is also having a significant impact on the environment. This Friday Late asked: how can we preserve our emotional connections to food while protecting the planet? In exploring this question, visitors navigated the supermarket aisle to explore how food can both sustain and be sustainable; experienced the synchronised movements of dancers and dough; and played with your food to question your own culinary choices. Connections to dining rituals were examined and food waste sins were confessed as we questioned the (shelf) life of our plates.

"She fed me for four years," said Val Vesnaver '13 as she explained her close relationship with Olivia Reed at the Colby Alumni Family Legacy and Alumni Council Dinner.

I'm really scared of relationships. I'd much rather not be in one because I think theyre too much worry. i tend to push myself away when someone gets close like that, because i'm scared. Even though i don't really know why.

Dream flashmob in Moscow

Day four of Missouri River Academy included learning about the relationship between the Missouri River and humans!

We kicked off the day touring the wastewater plant in New Haven and got the chance to learn about the importance of treating water, as well as the challenges that go with it. We learned about the hardships various flushed products have on the wastewater treatment process!

We then visited Astral Glass Studio in downtown New Haven, where Lance Stroheke and Gary Rice demonstrated glass blowing for us! They created a bluebird and a sea turtle right before our eyes! Afterward, they talked to us about their experience paddling 1,300 miles on the Missouri River! The kids also really enjoyed hanging with their shop dogs.

While downtown, we stopped by Avant Garden, and Charissa Coyle talked to us about the importance of supporting local agriculture, as well as how this year’s flooding and heavy rain has impacted growing produce in the Missouri River Valley. Using ingredients from Avant Gardens, we made fresh salsa together and celebrated with tacos for lunch!

After lunch, we headed to Deutschheim State Historic Site in Hermann and traveled back in time to explore Hermann’s German roots while touring historic family homes.

After a day of activities, we headed back to Camp Trinity, where students were introduced to the Creative Art Project. All campers partnered up and chose issues relating to the Missouri River. They’ll be creating a project to raise awareness about their chosen issue. We’ll see the finished products tomorrow afternoon at the New Haven Old School House.

Today the Olympic Games were intense, but after winning the “Face the Cookie” challenge, and solving the most riddles, Below Sea Level took first place again! The final round of Olympics takes place tomorrow!

We finished out the evening making s’mores around a campfire together. It’s hard to believe tomorrow’s our last day of Missouri River Academy already! This week has been filled with so much fun!

Written by myself and Beth at a recent KMM, with various commentary from other attendees. Somewhat accurate as of July 2006. Christopher is in NO WAY resposable for ANY of this. (except maybe Keira Knightley.)

There will always be many people around you but the only thing that matters is how many are standing with you and how many against.

Relationships After Cheating

I chose this photo for my homework six, because I appreciated the realness in it. It is two people that have a close relationship and it is a bit mysterious because we are not sure what type of a relationship this is. This makes the photo intriguing. You want to understand this relationship. Is it the boys mother? girlfriend? Is he sleeping? upset? This photo gave me the idea that I would like to photograph relationships between people for my project.

Common clownfish are reliant on sea anemone for shelter (they have a symbiotic relationship with the sea anemone). Sea anemone are protection for the fish and their nests. This is because when A. ocellaris are in the open waters, they have a higher risk of predation. It is postulated that the fanning behavior of the fish and removal of parasites promotes the health of sea anemones which contain A. ocellaris fish. In addition, the anemone provides protection for the fish with its tentacles, however, the fish’s mucus protection prevents it from being stung by the tentacles. The presence of the clownfish can be interpreted as a lure to attract potential anemone's preys close to the tentacles. And the clownfish can also defend the anemone against some reef fishes which could eat the tentacles. This species is found in the Eastern Indian Ocean and in the western Pacific Ocean. Amphiprion ocellaris typically lives in small groups on outer reef slopes or in sheltered lagoons at a maximal depth of 15 meters. It inhabits three different species of sea anemones.

A goofy picture of my sibs. I wish the shadow on Katelyn's eyes weren't there, any ideas? I had to laugh because if you look closely you can see my mom's reflection in the glass.
