A reject for Day 3.26. I tried some shots where I waved the flag, hoping to properly capture its movement, but my camera isn't up to the job. I tried various manual setting to no avail. However with a bit of Photoplus magic I got a passable image out of this picture I think.

The C46 rejected the day before and ALMOST went off the end. It sat at YPL for years after, then was flown out- bent spar and all. Those of you that know the end of the runway in YPL know where they almost ended up... about fall 1990 or spring/summer 1991

I figured I would post my reject for today as well...
You gotta love Blondie and I am not feeling like a debutante these days ( like I ever was )...
When I met you in the restaurant
You could tell I was no debutante
You asked me what's my pleasure
A movie or a measure?
I'll have a cup of tea and tell you of my dreaming
Dreaming is free
I don't want to live on charity
Pleasure's real or is it fantasy?
Reel to reel is living rarity
People stop and stare at me We just walk on by - we just keep on dreaming
Feet feet, walking a two mile
Meet meet, meet me at the turnstile
I never met him, I'll never forget him
Dream dream, even for a little while
Dream dream, filling up an idle hour
Fade away, radiate
I sit by and watch the river flow
I sit by and watch the traffic go
Imagine something of your very own
Something you can have and hold
I'd build a road in gold just to have some dreaming
Dreaming is free
Dreaming
Dreaming is free
Dreaming
Dreaming is free

This is a shot that did not make it into the series I'm working on. It was a good shot, but just not zoomed enough for what I needed.
Nest of raft spider (Dolomedes fimbriatus) hatchlings. Arne, Dorset.
I was finally informed yesterday that my image was NOT placed in the Natural History Museum's Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2012 / Behaviour: Cold-blooded Animals category, despite making it through the first round! Ho hum.
These recently hatched raft spiders were clustered together at the site of their nest beside a boggy pond on the heath. At the slightest disturbance they would scatter radially outwards, but collapse back into a ball at the centre when the threat subsided. This gently seething mass was a wonder to observe, as hundreds of individuals gave the impression of behaving in unison as a single organism. Each hatchling perhaps 5mm across. The much larger parent was monitoring her offspring intently from a position just below.
I don't know what's come over me, I suddenly feel like I should put up a picture with more than just my face. Or chest. Or other random body part. So here it is, my torso.
This was originally my shot for the day, but in hindsight, I liked my 'reject' better.
reject for today's SP. Look how tiny that pie is. It makes my hand look huge! And you know what they about guys with big hands, right ladies?
muahahahaha.
I am such a child...
Mmmm...lemon pie... in a tiny package...I love my tiny package..
Wait! I'm not saying that "I" have a tiny package. I mean that I love the tiny little lemon pie...
*cough*
*looks around worriedly*
Is it any wonder I'm single with comments like that?!
