Before coffee, my first love was juice...
Gah! I didn't get to upload anything today after a dragging day at work.
A welcome drink for a hard-pressed Salford City Roosters player during a Third Division game with Beverley in amateur rugby league's Kingstone Press Cider National Conference League. Leaders Beverley, who after a two-decade absence have rejoined the NCL for 2018, coasted to a 64-8 victory at the East Riding Leisure Centre. It extended to four games the hosts' 100 per cent start to the season. The Blue-Golds ran in 11 tries but, against opposition who, owing to work and holiday commitments, did not bring any substitutes, will be disappointed by failing to score between the 54th and 78th minutes.
The present incarnation of Beverley ARLFC is the East Riding town's third. The first existed between 1883 and the 1920s. Beverley were beaten Yorkshire Cup Finalists on three occasions, losing to Shipley, Bradford 'A' and Buslingthorpe Vale (Leeds), but defeated professional side Ebbw Vale 7-2 in the Challenge Cup. The second club were formed in 1980, and played in the Humberside League until, a decade later, they applied successfully to join the National Conference League, amateur rugby league's flagship competition. Defeat by Heworth (York) in the 1993-94 Yorkshire Cup Final was tempered in 1994-95 by another Challenge Cup win, 27-4, against a professional side, Highfield. In 1998, Beverley agreed to an ill-fated merger with East Hull ARLFC. It did not bear fruit and the club dropped out of the NCL at the end of the 1998-99 campaign. By the very next season, however, a third incarnation of Beverley ARLFC were in business. They played in the Hull & District League until 2014-15 before stepping up to the Yorkshire League. Beverley rejoined the NCL for the 2018 season. The club run two open-age teams, along with a junior section, known as Beverley Braves.

In 1st class you get a cookie-type thing with cream filling (like an ersatz Oreo)... I still prefer the 2nd class wafers though...

Even though the flight from Bangkok to Chiang Mai is very short we were served a snack en route.

*I love Thai Airways. Everything comes in shades of pink and purple- even the trays, tablecloths, and salt and pepper packets.

The 88 Drive-In (Commerce City, Colorado) runs a few vintage drive-in theater ads, such as this one for the concession stand, mentioned here as the more erudite "Refreshment Center". Note the Lowe's distribution center across the street; it causes a lot less light pollution than you might expect.

Conveniently stopping outside the doorway or the 'Interchange Buffet' at Barnham station is Southern class 313 working a local service.
Introduced 38 years ago, the units now used on Coastway services were last based at Willesden TMD where they were used on Silverlink Metro services and then London Overground prior to the introduction of class 378 units.
After a long shift there's nothing like a wee dram to calm the nerves. I favor Canadian Club that's been kept in the freezer. Pour it over lots of ice into a glass that's also been kept in the freezer then add a splash of quality lemonade. Sometimes ice crystals form as the mix find's its freezing point.
